Pending some insight on his attitude / work ethic from whoever is coaching him I would take Gerald Green back in a nanosecond. Been through some hard knocks. Still trying. Still a good 3 pt shooter. Athletic, healthy, durable. Humbled (one would think at least). Hopefully more self confident, mature and coach-able than a few years ago.

Well, that is one thing that does set him apart from other athletic freaks in the NBA: he can shoot the ball.  Last he was here, he didn't do much between the rim and the three point line, but if he could commit himself to defense, I see no reason why he couldn't be at least as good as Pietrus.

I don't know if it's worth it to nab him now, but I'd consider bringing him into camp for next season.

as far as GG hats off to him, I said weeks ago before the All Star game the guy was shining! He rebuilt his body he is not that extra skinny guy anymore, he has a great basketball muscular wingman body! He is shooting 45% from deep plus we all know what he can do at the rim which is finish! We have only 1 guy on the team who can still do that. When was the last time we got easy lob points from a wing forward? Don't worry i'll wait! He is producing more than worthy enough for a call up & next time he will stick! And what was most encouraging about it all was him not getting in the D-League dunk contest because it shows his attitude has changed from not being all style to more substance. And for the Celtic bloggers saying we are a better team without a athlete like Gerald Green are just being stubborn and stuck in their ways because we SUCK RIGHT NOW due to lack of athlete/runners/jumpers to team around Rondo. Gerald Green would be our best player off the bench right now including Pietrus/Wilcox the kid is a supremely talented & skilled offensive force & what do we need right now? Buckets! We have no pure scorers who can create for themselves beyond Pierce.

Well, the kid did just get kicked off of his Chinese team for being too selfish and not team-oriented.  That's from a few months ago, not exactly ancient history.

[Edited.] And Gerald record around here was the same as Paul Pierce, remember he was on that team also. Gerald was a 20 yr. Old player who was scoring big points while still learning. By age he was in the top 3-4 all time for production by young age. But yet all you people can think about is a 20 yr. Old right out of highschool mistakes & not the good he was doing. Won a a game in NJ with a big 20 plus game & 1 in Atlanta with a 30plus game. Oh I do remember the bad years because I am a true Positive thinking Celtic! You can't fly B.S. over my head because I haven't miss a Celtic game or season since 82'...... and the guy was scoring 40's in China before he walked away from his non guaranteed contract because he wanted a chance to make a NBA roster. ... Do you really think the LA Lakers woulda picked him up if he was un coachable in China? ... But better yet just admit when a player is playing good in the present. Do bring up negatives that happened 6 yrs ago for a young Celtic team who was all learning together.

 :)

Foshan Longlions Club of CBA told media that it decided to terminate the contract with the 25-year-old forward because he "failed to fit into the tactic system of the whole team," despite out-standing personal abilities.

"The coach team considered it again and again and made this difficult decision, in order to meet the team's long-term needs," the club's statement said. "We wish Mr Green good luck in his future career, and look forward to cooperating with him again."

Apart from the statement, Foshan Longlions gave out an interview record with Green, in which he admitted that his next goal was NBA.

Foshan got only one win in its first four matches in this season, ranking 14th place in the league of 17 teams. Green had 26.5 points, 4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

"The team needs someone to stand out at the crucial time. I tried to lead the team but maybe I was not doing good enough," Green said.

How old are you Edgar? Read between the lines, if he was fired/cut due to terrible play, why would they be willing & looking forward to working with him again? Doesn't make much sense unless it was a excuse built to kind heartedly let him pursue the NBA. And China took Stephon Marbury & kept him! Nuff said! They will deal with characters flat out K-Mart,Marbury, J.R. Smith & many more. I don't do personal attacks I'm positive energy who repels haters! Hating is a disease which I have yet to catch & don't plan on it.

Imagine if Gerald Green just went to college for an attitude adjustment along with the coaching he really was lacking in 2005. The kid is now 26 and has done nothing but waste his potential up to this point.

I would argue that Gerald is still a better player then all the rookies of similar talent.

I'd like to see Gerald turn his career around and be an NBA Player... i'm just not betting on it.
