howard is worth a ton in return, no one is more well positioned to give them value back then Utah so here's an idea that would bring some much needed rebounding and low post scoring to the c's while facilitating a howard trade (all dependent on howard signing long term with the jazz

or

to utah: howard
to orlando: favors, kanter, ray allen, avery bradley
to boston: al jefferson

scenario 2:
to orlando: favors, kanter, haywood, ray allen
to utah: howard
to boston: jefferson

so utah sends out all most of their big man talent and gets back the premier big man in the game

orlando gets huge upside 7 footers in kanter and favors, both of whom have the potential to be stars in the league, both wrapped up for several years on reasonable contracts.

boston gets a quality big to pair with KG now  and with which ever FA 4/5 we can land this summer (preferably a high post scorer/shot blocker) we are short at the guard spot for the rest of the season but pietrus, sasha, denials and moore can fill in for the duration.

The chances of Howard resigning in Utah are pretty close to zero, so I don't think they would go after him like that.

With that said, Utah is an interesting 3rd or 4th team for a Howard trade, because they do have some talented but not great players with movable contracts.

I think this trade involving Utah would benefit us better

That's a lot for Utah to give up for a half-season rental of KG and Rondo. I also just can't see them trading Kanter and Jefferson together. Millsap/Kanter or Jefferson/Favors is away more likely, although not as likely as them just trading one of their 4 guys and not two.

What if we threw in Rondo to Utah as incentive for Dwight and got Devin Harris back?

utah values kanter highly, i could see them giving him up for howard, maybe aldrich/ bynum but not for KG at this stage of his career.
if the magic are truly uninterested in bynum (with his bomb knees) then there are few teams who can offer more than favors and kanter. twin 7 footers with huge upside.
