I'd prefer Sheed over Stiemer and/or Sasha.

I completely forgot Sasha Pavlovic  was a Celtic.

I thought it was a type of cake!!!

How out of shape is Sheed? Any links out there of the recent pro-am mentioned?
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

Good for Sheed - but what in the world has happened to Josh McRoberts, here?

Has the guy fallen off the earth?

He was a solid backup/starter for Indy last year..a guy I wouldn't mind seeing in Green...

What in the world is going on in Laker land?

Same feeling here. I would choose McRoberts over Sheed any day, just because of attitude.

lolol hahahahaha and I thought we were desperate

And to imagine that some people in this forum were not happy about Wallace NOT joining us! LOL!

I thought he sucked big time while playing for us. Besides, why would we need another "senior citizen" added on our roster?? We caught a lucky break when we traded for Bass as he is an upgrade to what we got already. Let´s hope that we get his wages off the salary cap!
In Danny Ainge I Trust!

I think Sheed looked pretty cooked in 2010. He did have one really good game, Game 7, where he played his heart out.

I agree with most here, I don't think Sheed will/would have much impact. You can dress an old sock up but it's still just going to be an old sock.

Game 6 v. Cleveland was his best game by far.  13 HUGE points off the bench, including two monster fourth quarter threes that set the Garden on fire.  His second three (the biggest shot of the game) followed by a Rondo steal/KG fastbreak dunk was probably the loudest the [new] Garden has ever been.  Anyone who was there that night remembers this.

I hope this does not trigger Danny to sign Mark Blount.....Because he is a veteran Doc will play him 35 minutes game.

TP for the reminder.

I'll be sad if he finally signs with the Fakers, I really liked him in the 2010 playoff run. He was far better than BBD, even before the kung fu games in Orlando which led to Baby's concussion and KG and Sheed back problems. (If only the Captain shut up about sweeping and actually finished Orlando in 4 games, the Celtics would've destroyed the Fakers). He was also a better fit than Perk, like it or not.

Of course, if Sheed is a faker, then Gasol is heading out of LA, which is good news, because the Fakers will suck big time without their most efficient and valuable player. Kobe is a great scorer, but Gasol is their MVP.

When/if Sheed plays for the Lakers, it will be good news, but I'll miss him in green. He can bring more than Steamer to a playoff team. We'll see how it ends

I guess some of those who still wish we could get Rasheed here would be surprised to read this:

Quote
As for the Celtics, Boston had no interest in reuniting with Wallace when word spread that he was planning to make a comeback. And that lack of disinterest, CSNNE.com has learned, was mutual.

The C's didn't want him back and he didn't want to be back. Says a lot about how Sheed fit into the locker room and got along with Ray, KG, Pierce, Rondo, Doc and Danny, if you ask me.

Unless this deal means that Kupchak is desperate and is willing to now deal both Bynum & Gasol for Howard (and Nelson).

Unless it's some convoluted deal that involves using that Odom trade exemption and Gasol to somehow land Howard, swapping out Sheed for Gasol might be the only move worse than letting Odom walk for essentially nothing, no matter who else Gasol brings back.  Sheed was all but done 2 years ago and you remember how bad KG looked at the start of the season?  Multiply that by at least 100 and that's what Sheed is going to be like.

Forget the stats.  Kobe is not a top 5 player anymore.  The only thing that makes the Lakers special is their size.  Give that up and they might not even make the freakin' playoffs.

Howard is a great piece to rebuild around, but he ain't better than both Bynum and Gasol.  A Lakers team of Kobe, Howard, Fisher, Artest and...who?  Walton?  Barnes?  That may be the biggest drop off in talent after the top 2 players in the history of the NBA.

Yeah, man.  I LOVED the 2010 playoffs.  I remember everything about them, especially the home games (since I was at obviously.)

You are right about Pierce.  How miserable was Game 4? Pierce kicked the ball when he had a chance to win it.  How often does that "Pierce holding it till there's 4 seconds left then go" play work? Once? Game 3 v Miami that year?? that's it!  Freakin Game 4! Had the Celtics won that game - rested up for LA.  We would have won.  We were clearly running low on gas.  When we had short rest+long flight (LA to Boston between Games 2 and 3, and Boston to LA for Games 5+6 w/each time getting one day of rest) - we had our WORST games.  Pierce also, after Game 2 said "we ain't coming back to LA."  Then the Celtics laid that absolute EGG in Game 3 despite an absolute RAUCOUS Garden crowd.  Watch the first few seconds of the KG highlights when he was throwing down those alleyoops:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoVAXtKxcKQ&NR=1

See how loud it was on TV? Was like that x10 when you were actually there.  Absolute insanity.  For the beginning of the game!  Yet we laid that egg.  Ugh.

Depends what they get for Pau.  They need a PG in the WORST way, and if they can get at least a somewhat competent starting 4 - they could be legit.  Plus they could get some flexibility, maybe a young player, another pick (gives them 3 in this year's loaded draft)...etc.  We will see.  Gasol is not their MVP btw, he is clearly declining.  He gets pushed around in the paint a little more now.  He's also added a 3 pt shot, which is when you always know a big man doesn't have the strength anymore to be down low for all 35 mins of their playing time (remember McHale ?)

It just shows that we aren't really taking this season seriously, I think.  Remember we were interested in bringing Sheed back last year (he was at the Celtics Open Practice last year) but not this year.  It's funny, Sheed was a disappointment here, but all that matters to real Celtics fans (like you and me) are what you do for us in May and June.  And Sheed hit huge shots (he had 3 pts in Game 4 v LA, but that 3 was, once again, an immense fourth quarter 3 when we played 4 bench players+Ray Allen).  When you're an old school fan like you and me, we don't forget things like this.  We will always remember the remnants of Derek Smith coming off the bench for 8 key 2nd quarter points v the Pacers in 91 (the game Bird hit the deck, and came back.)  We will always remember Sheed's 3 v Cleveland that was absolutely nuclear inside the Garden.
