Look lets be real guys this is awful... every game is awful... I don't care if we're healthy or not we're clearly not contending this year...

Lets just begin the rebuild in the next few weeks... please just do it, its the best option. Try to get some picks for guys like allen/kg, or whatever you can do. Tank the season, lets get as many picks as we can in this draft and just rebuild it.

Tanking now will set us up perfectly to contend as soon as possible with a huge overhaul (not to mention we're practically tanking every game now anyway). Keep Pierce though for veteran leadership next year..

If we had Rondo and Bass we wouldn't be down by 20+

Pierce is our most tradeable asset outside of Rondo, so keeping him makes it hard to rebuild.

Your implication that we are more than one piece away from a championship is probably correct.  I can't envision us being buyers at the deadline unless no one wants to buy from us.

But some people still think that one piece, like a Kaman, might somehow push us over the edge.  They want to wait till the offseason to rebuild since we've got a bunch of expiring contracts anyhow.

Shock the world as the 8th seed.  (Well who knows?  D Wade could get injured or something right??)

I just dont see it happening at this point the teams so flawed... I feel like our best move would be to get as many picks as we can in this draft...

Pierce doesnt get traded for sentimental reasons AND while being our biggest asset to trade, will someone really be willing to take on his contract at his age assuming we trade him to an already successful contender (like everyone here agrees)

While I'm still against moving Rondo, we can only get a similar franchise type player in return who is young or we will end up with 2-3 mediocre role players who someone else gambled on in the draft.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

If there was a deal to be made that put us in a better position, Danny wouldn't hesitate to do it.

Think about it - teams are probably giving us some terribly lowball offers because they see the situation we're in.  All our contracts are expiring; that may very well be our best option

We're missing two of our five most important players on the offense. Of course it's ugly tonight.

we've failed every single test this team has been given this season.  They've lost to every contender they have matched up with whether they were healthy or not.

Beaten by Miami, Chicago (with Rose), Dallas (twice), OKC (twice), Lakers ...

We can't compete as currently constructed.  Few more weeks until the deadline I'm sure Danny is frantically weighing every option imaginable.  Tuning out until post deadline.

Either we land a starting center for nothing (Chris Kaman) and make an ill fated run, Danny gets some kind of value for PIerce and Ray... or we just let this stinker drag out until the offseason... waste of a season.

Pierce is our most tradeable asset outside of Rondo, so keeping him makes it hard to rebuild.

The most tradeable asset is Mickael Pietrus because he has a minimum salary.  He won't get as much in return as Pierce if there is a trade, but he is much easier to trade.

The reasonable value you can expect for Ray Allen is sending him to Atlanta for Kirk Heinrich and a second-round pick.  Maybe a first if Boston kicks in enough cash.

We have a ton of cap space and 2 first round picks this off-season. The rebuild will occur but not till the season is over.

cap space means nothing if no one wants to play here... and we can get more than 2 first round picks and a better overall pick if we begin the rebuild now
