Just like Memphis did with SA last year ?

Not only that, I think the Knicks could also upset either one of those teams as a 7th seed.

Right now it doesn't look like we're going anywhere but as an 8th seed, we are major underdogs, looked down by everyone.

HCA is only important if you can't win on the road, but the Celtics could win on any teams court. That plus the shock factor and a little bit of underestimation from the opponent's.

Doesn't help that either coach of those teams tell their players Boston is dangerous beware..Somewhere in the back of their heads they will think they are the better team and when we beat them in game 1 or 2 and come back to Boston it's suddenly a series. And if we take care of our home games we got them on the ropes.

I don't think it's impossible at all. I like to see a Celtics/Knicks ECF.

Miami-BOS 2-4
Chicago-NY 2-4
Phila-Indiana 4-2
Orlando-Atlanta 4-3

Philadelphia-New York 3-4
Orlando-Boston 2-4

New York-Boston 1-4

No, I don't think they could.

Not without another impact player. An interior player who can defend and rebound at a high level. Interior defense is too vulnerable to Miami's slashers + too vulnerable on the boards to Chicago's bigs.

Slim or Non .    Not sure that would be good for the future of the team anyhow.

I'm banking the Celtics will play horrible the rest of the season , and we get a decent lottery pic , dump the big three and get on with the future.

I think we can if we make the right moves and fix our rebounding problem

that's the issue we can't rebound

There is nobody we can add to this current team to make it capable of beating either Miami or Chicago in a 7 game series barring a major injury to one of their stars(Rose, LBJ, Wade, Bosh).   You cannot run a team hoping for injuries to opposing players.

A time machine might be nice.

No way. This team will be knocked out of the first round. We start playing the youngsters and see what we have. Better at this point to get a better lottery pick at this point than a 7 or 8 seed and a first round loss in the playoffs.

I think Rondo is on his way to pulling off a Chris Paul-vs-Lakers this post season. I think the big three still have one big run left in them and this will be a hell of a playoffs run for us as the baton is passed.

Sure, odds are stacked against this but, hey, isn't that what being a fan is all about? Believing in your players?

Love how people give no chance.

Like tonights game.

Apparently the NBA has never seen an upset. If we win the rest of our games against Mia this season then people will just jump on the bandwagon. Not a lot of rationality on here per usu

  • Rondo = Good
Well, as KG once said, "Anything is possible," I suppose.

Injuries can happen anytime, and they don't always strike down major players on the Celtics.

Barring a blockbuster trade that shakes up the Celtics to the core and makes them focus on the fundamentals of rebounding and taking care of the ball on offense while their defense plays at a high level, this team is not capable of beating any team in a seven game series let alone Miami and Chicago. A lot of work needs to be done here before they regain my confidence in them.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

We had a 50-50 shot against the Heat last year (until Rondo was injured). We're probably worse this year though, and the Heat are definitely better. Chicago's better this year, too.

Unless we're perfectly healthy, and our bench produces, and crash our defensive boards, we're unlikely to beat either team.

Barring injuries to the other team, the Celtics have no shot against the Heat and just a slim shot against the Bulls.
