It has nothing to do with that. We would have lost even with KG, Bass and Rondo. I hope people realize that.

This team no longer has any heart nor the drive to work hard enough to get the much needed wins. This is a team looking for excuses and probably held a bit of comfort in the fact that they didn't have some of their top players tonight.

I've seen this too much already to just allow them to slide with a loss like this.

Well said. I am not buying the excuses either. Either the team wants to win or they don't. If they want to win, they win, regardless of who's not playing. When you start making excuses, you're a loser

I don't agree with this in any way. Sure, it would still be a good possibility that Boston would lose this game, but it wouldn't be nearly as uncompetitive.

Wrong...yes it does. With KG, JO, Wilcox, Bass and Rondo out....it made a huge difference.

Having KG, Bass, and Rondo certainly would have made a difference.

But we've seen this team with all three of those guys, and it hasn't been much better on the boards, or scoring inside, or really scoring in general.

It's a seriously, deeply flawed team; the fact that it doesn't have much in the way of depth even though the starting lineup is ancient just makes it worse.

Who is making excuses on the Celtics? They are proving to be a very fragile team. They will continue to struggle until they get there confidence back. The turnovers are caused by lack of concentration.  The bad rebounding is tougher to solve since they are too small and too slow. I suspect they will be looking at ten day big men to see if they can do the job or get Stiesma and JJJ some experience. This is a war of attrition playing out in the regular season and we are losing the war badly as evidenced by being dead last in every rebounding category and near the bottom in turnover ratio.

And yet a team that averages 95 PPG scored 89 with 5 of their top 11 rotation players out of the lineup.

Gotta think that if all those guys were around, regardless of how they have been at various time this year, key word various, that this Dallas team would have been beaten tonight because they played poorly except Dirk who played great without KG on him.

The Mavs scored 6 points lower than their average, okay.  We'll overlook that it was a blowout for most of the game so they weren't exactly trying their hardest.  But even 6 points lower than their average is equal to what the Celtics average on offense, and the Mavs are a good defensive team.

Celts might have scored in the low 80s with Rondo, Bass, and KG playing.

So we can hold onto that 8th seed?

I would rather they win and force us to play better and earn a playoff spot.

Disagree. This team needs to not make the playoffs this year.
