Westbrook is an ELITE, top tier NBA player, Rondo is an allstar. Yea Rondo is a better "pure PG" but cmon all that is getting old... he's a better "pure PG" than Derrick Rose too.. but he's not even close as a player.

I wouldn't call Westbrook and elite top tier NBA player.  He's good, probably better than Rondo, but he too can be a headache as a player.  In a lot of ways, he is the anti Rondo.  Whereas Rondo is doesn't shoot enough (or even provide a threat), Westbrook can definitely shoot too much.

I'm not sure you can be considered elite when you have a 5.3/4.3 AS/TO ratio while playing PG. Westbrook's current season looks like Tyreke Evan's rookie year (cept evans had a 5.8/3.0 ratio).  Is Tyreke Evans elite?

We can talk about Westbrooks #'s at seasons end when that ast/TO ratio is better then that, he started off this season ATROCIOUS cmon we all know that.. he's just now rounding into form and better than ever, IMO he's an elite NBA player.

Westbrook shoots alot because he's a scorer.  Are you saying it's a flaw for Rose, Kobe, Durant, Wade that they shoot alot?  How do you score points without shooting?

Rondo will never be elite if his main skill is being a pass first point guard.  That basically means you have to rely on having good teammates.  What happens when KG, Ray, Pierce are gone, who are you going to pass to?  Elite players can do it themselves if need be.

Westbrook is a better scorer... Rondo is a better point guard. Westbrook can take control of a game with his offense but i dont think he can command and control an offensive system like Rondo can... Plus Westbrook plays in a starting lineup that features three heavily offensively challenged players, so he is forced to score.
