i'm crossing my fingers that we actually make the playoffs, but if it starts today...it's the miami heat...considering our struggles as of late, it seems there's no way we can make it past them...but being a faithful, like most celtics fans are, we would gladly overlook the flaws and bank on the upsides (if there's anything that stands out)...my take, fantasy that is, we will be making the biggest splash and shock the basketball world for upsetting the primadonnas of south beach, you dare ask why?aside from the veteran smarts, the resurgence of the big 3, too much pride, and of course, the fans who still believe that the celtic mystique is still alive, "impossible is nothing"...so what 's your pipe dream take as to how we can get the job done with the present roster? who knows, doc just might be listening...

I don't know if we'd win a game.

Right now I think we're looking at another 5 game exit, only this time in the first round.  Every game will be reasonably close, but it'll only last 5 games.

Good.  Win big or go home.  They are going to have to beat at least one of the Heat or Bulls, and if they can't do it, I am fine with them just losing in the first round, rather than teasing us for longer.

I disagree, but totally understand the sentiment here.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
The playoffs are not starting today, so whats with this exercise in futility?
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

ending the Big 3 era with a rather embarrassing first round demolition at the hands of the Heat?

Yikes.

I expect the opposite, no close games (well and 4 games for the series).  The really sad part about it is the C's would only "win" a game or wo where the Heat played very bad (ie more like they "lost" the game than we "won" it).

The Celtics could never be favored in such a series, but they probably have a better chance of an upset than the majority of playoff teams in the East.

If 100% healthy I think they'd give the Heat a great battle based on pride alone.

but sad to say in today's NBA I wouldn't trust the refs in that series.  Meaning we'd have to
be not just better but convincingly better.  I don't know if today's refs have less integrity
than in the past or if they're just less skilled at integrity.

Either way it kills.

I hate the Heat but it is hard seeing us win more than one or two games in that series given our age and health.

If our goal is banner 18, then we have to go through the heat sooner or later in the playoffs. I actually prefer doing it in the first round while we are better rested and hopefully less injured. Either way , we won't have home court when we meet them so who cares which round it's in.

Well, my point is, if it is destined to end with the Heat (or Bulls) anyways, then get it overwith quickly.

Personally, I think the C's have a punchers chance, and the earlier they play a team like the Heat, the better off they will be, because they will be fresher, and the Heat will be less focused in the first round than they would later.

But, if I am just being optimistic, I want to know that earlier (as does my wallet, since I will be dishing out money for playoff tickets).
