I can't wrap my head around C's disappointing year. Celtics equivalent in the west Spurs & Mavericks playing great basketball in tough western conference. Meanwhile Celtics just lost to the Detriot Pistons at home.

Is the system to blame? Coaching? The players? Danny Ainge management? or Is it Lebron's Fault? I need some clarity.

It never seems to me like Doc has a strong hold of his players. They seem to openly defy him and he never really seems to respond.
I think the team has the pieces to be a lot better than it is right now.

I actually disagree that we should be much better - I just don't think we have quite as much talent as some people. Pierce, KG, and Ray are an average of 35 years old and can't consistently produce the way we're accustomed to anymore. We have no legit center on our roster (CW is undersized and JO has one foot in the retirement home) so rebounding will be up & down at best and we have no players that can score in the paint consistently. It's hard to win night in and night out with a roster as flawed as ours. We're right where I thought we would be.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

While I absolutly blame Lebron for unemployment and global warming I don't blame him for anything on the Celts

No "All of the above" option? Because that's what I would pick.

The [dang] shortened and compressed season.. We have aging player who are more sensitive to injuries caused by increased tempo of games and the schedule.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

  • Rondo = Good
Celtics not as healthy or as deep as the Spurs and Mavs.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

great example. He  shot 4 for 14 in that game. So what did Doc do? Played him 39 minutes the next game. Doc doesn't really mean the things he says. There are no consequences and the players know it. There's no good consequences either. You can be a young guy and go out and play great and it doesn't matter cause Doc will play some 40 year old vet over you the next game.
