it must be done ,we missed out on ellis a few years ago & watching ray not being able to create his own shot against quality defenders really hurt our offence it was basically pierce vs the big 3

it'll give us a better chance winning the title short term & still have some felixiblity in the short term heres the dream scenario now

next year we'll have rondo, pierce & ellis in place
if dwight can take a paycut & sign here (about 13-14 mill) to my math so he can win rings sorta like wat the heat did with the big 3

sign JEFF GREEN with our bird rights (i think we still have them)
resign ray & kev to the minimum
resign bass if he isnt traded by the deadline
this is all after were over the cap by the way

next year we'll be strong contenders with a lineup something like

Rondo/Bradley
Ellis/ray/1st rounder
Pierce/green
KG/bass/JJJ
DH/1st rounder

now im all for trading up to get robinson out of kansas the boy is a PROBLEM

thoughts?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm pretty sure we don't have Green's Bird rights anymore and I don't know that Dwight would want to take that much of a paycut. Also, I don't know that KG and Ray will both sign for the minimum, although this team is one that would be worth coming back for.

With that being said, I like all of the players and really wouldnn't mind getting Ellis, but I really don't want to give up Rondo for him. A core of Rondo, Ellis, Pierce, and Dwight would be pretty sweet.

  • Rondo = Good
rondo / ellis backcourt . . . no me gusta.

Rondo/Ellis/Moore
Ellis/Bradley
Pierce/Green
KG/JJJohnson
FA Center-Kaman?/Wilcox

Surely if Ray for Ellis is out there, AND

JO, Bass, Dooling for Kaman or Al Jefferson is out there, (or the same plus crazy picks for DH),

Then that would really be something.

yeah a trade for ellis than that trade for kaman really would bode well & bring us back into contention

Do we give away like 30 draft picks or something to sweeten the deal?

Can someone please explain to me why the Warriors would treat the Cs as a charity case and simply give away Monta Ellis for Ray Allen????  How does this interest them in any way?

I can give you 22 million reasons... but I think you can guess what they are.

Even if they just want a salary dump I think the Warriors can still get far more for Ellis than Ray's expiring deal.

There must be at least half a dozen teams out there (likely more) who would jump at a chance to best this (imaginary) C's offer for Ellis...like Orlando, Dallas, Atlanta, NJ, Minny, Portland..the list would be long.
