I dont like Mayweather at all, but this statement is factual.  It seems more like a shot at the media than at Lin

I don't think it's factual.  He said:

Quote
Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise

That's not a fact at all.  These are the facts:

Quote
Lin led the Knicks to a 4-0 week, averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 assists and 2.0 steals. His 109 points over his first four career starts are the most by any player since 1976-77, and he became the first player in NBA history to tally at least 20 points and seven assists in each of his first four starts.

Lin has done something that nobody has ever done.  He's done that in the media capital of the country, and has turned around a bad Knicks team, despite Carmelo and Amare not playing.  Black players certainly are *not* doing that every night.
Didn't Oscar reach 20 points and 7 assists in his first four starts.  I know he hit the points (first game he had 10 assists as well).  I couldn't find box scores that had his assist totals from his next 3 games, but he did average 9.7 assists that year.
Wasn't that before the invention of the televsion? ;)

Chris Dudley went to Yale, played in the league for 16 years, started for the Knicks in the NBA Finals, was a 4th round pick in 1987 (75th overall), and you probably only vaguely know who he was.

OK - lets not nmake assumptions as to what each other knows. I did a quick google of Ivh players in the NBA, not encompassing search.  And dud's wasnt an all world player by any stretch - good but not all world

and Lin is all world, after 4 starts.

The reigning Eastern Conference player of the week scored 27 points and added a career-high 11 assists, shaking off a sloppy first half to carry the Knicks down the stretch.

....i don't think any other african-american does this consistently on a nightly basis, much less, for 6 consecutive games mr.mayweather to catch national attention...not lebron, not kobe, not wade or not even michael jordan has done this..

Black players do do that all the time (lebron for example), just not as the first four starts of one's career.  I think that is the real issue.

At least 23 points, 7 assists, 52% shooting? Four straight games?

Just for the record, Lebron's done that once.

Even if you talk about his current streak, six straight games of 20+ points, 7+ assists, and at least 1 steal. Only three current players have done it, James, Wade, and Chris Paul. They're all headed to the Hall of Fame.

just saw this on a fake D'Antoni tweet funny as hell. ;D

Floyd Mayweather thinks Jeremy Lin is overrated, which is funny because Jeremy Lin has managed to be undefeated without ducking anybody.

Lin has played great, no doubt. But keep in mind, this kid has the ball a lot. Not to take away from his game...but the fact that he dominates the ball (shooting and passing) has helped inflate his numbers.
