Chris Wilcox  6'10 C/PF
10 pts, 9rbs, 1blk vs.Chicago

Wilcox should definitely definitely be the starter and he will now with Bass and JON out. Doc will probably finally get it right despite himself

Its a bird!
No, its Blake!
NO FOOLS! ITS MY MAN, C.Will!!!!

He can run. He can score at will. He can combine with Rondo in transition. He can board over centers. He's athletic. He can dunk. He can play defence with our anchor KG. The list can go on folks but I'll keep in short and let you CB'ers think about it for yourself.

Let me present my Celtic rotation book:
C  Wilcox 24
PF Garnett 30
SF Pierce 36
SG Allen 36
PG Rondo 40
----------------
C O'Neal 18 (will be higher @ playoffs)
G Dooling 18
F/G Pietrus 18
F Bass 28
G Moore 5
F Johnson 5

What's your thoughts? Reply on the thread ;D

I think he could fill in solidly against any team not named LA. It's a guaranteed mismatch as well as he'll be beating other centers almost always up the floor.

You're going to run Rondo straight into the ground with those minutes.

I like:

C  Wilcox 24
PF Garnett 30
SF Pierce 34
SG Allen 34
PG Rondo 36
----------------
F Bass 28
F/G Pietrus 18
C O'Neal 14
G Dooling 12
G Bradley 10

Jrue, but Deng does +40 minutes multiple times this season. I think Rondo has the same stamina as him

You are forgetting LA also has a scrub team.  Lakers or something.  They play between Clipper games.

PG Rondo 40

And people complain about Doc running the starters into the ground.

Since 2009-2010, Pierce has been averaging 34-ish mpg each season.  This season, Allen has his mpg down from 36-ish to 33.  It's already been pointed out that Rondo playing 40 mpg is ridiculous.  I believe that increasing his minutes leads to him taking plays off and trying to conserve energy, so I believe the regular rotation should have Avery Bradley playing 15 minutes per game.

Since Jermaine is out 2/3 of the time, why not. Wilcox is better than JO.

he can score at will? I don’t know about that one…
but I am overall happy with Wilcox, and don’t mind him starting.
He does need to work on his passing, he made some terrible passes in the last few games.
Plus, how did he not get that Ray Allen ally-oop pass? ;D

Yes, he can be a starter for us and a good one at that.  His game is even better just playing besides Rondo, Allen, Pierce, & Garnett.  For some odd reason, people think this guy is a slouch since he didn't get much run last year on a pathetic Piston team.  Problem is, this isn't the Pistons.

For now, I'd rather have JO starting and Wilcox coming in off the bench.  But, the way Chris has been playing lately, I wouldn't mind seeing him out there to finish some games.

Against teams other than the Magic and Lakers, yes. He can definitely use his speed and athleticism as an excellent running mate with Rondo.

But if Rondo isn't pushing it... then he's not as effective.

He went 5 for 5 against Memphis (M Gasol) ending up with 12,5, and a steal

He went 5 - 6 against Chicago (Noah) ending with 11,9, 1 and a block

He went 6 for 8 against Indiana (all star Hibbert) ending up with 14 and 6 and only 2 fouls in about 20 minutes of play.

I don't think it's hard at all to see what the best option is here

Well, I think he's not as good defensively as JO, and I don't know if he has much of a post game, but overall I'd say yeah, start him -- mainly because he can get out and run with Rondo, and rebound well. Plus, JO's much more suited, at this point in his career, to playing nonstarters minutes (15-20 a game).

If you think Wilcox is better than JON then you think he should start.

If you think he's worse than JON then you think he needs to play a lot more minutes and probably do a lot of starting for a while to preserve JON for the playoffs. The most games in a row JON has played in in the last two years without missing a game is ten this year. If we go anywhere in the playoffs it will have to be a lot more than 10 games. We have to get used to playing without him
