for

Felton + Batum + first round pick(contingent on resigning batum)

The Cs get a serviceable starting pg in the last year of his contract. A high potential well rounded young wing and a draft pick (probably have to be top 15 protected)

Portland gets the best player in the trade and an upgrade at PG and dont lose much production in pietrus for batum. They are a team that doesnt need to add more young pieces and are looking to compete now.

why would you propose a deal that gives away a top PG who's the best player in the deal for a mediocre PG and a run-of-the-mill wing?   wings are the easiest position to fill.

Then you trade

Pietrus for Batum, which you even, said "dont lose much production in pietrus for batum".

For what? A low draft pick and the potential of Batum? I don't see it, man.

Though Portland considers Batum a budding star, I really don't see it.  As others have said, unless their first round pick is really high, I don't see the point of this trade.

Maybe if we could pry Camby away as well.

Yeah, another oft-injured old player but he put up consecutive games of more than 15 boards against Denver and OKC just a few weeks back and is an expiring deal.

Rondo, JO, Dooling and/or Wilcox for Batum, Camby, Felton and a 1st.

Also, I think Batum would be a perfect fit in Boston.  Super athletic 23 year old wingman who can defend the 2,3,4 spots and shoots over 40% from 3?  Sign me up.

I would probably say yes if the pick were top 10 guaranteed, if we got a top 5 pick and batum for rondo and pietrus that would be great. Pietrus ain't hanging around next year) we can't afford him. We could pry something else from them too, Portland would be keen for this I think. Felton is very under rated.

Batum is only 23 same age as JJ. He already is a very productive player. The celtics having 3 first round picks in this draft would be huge for the future. This draft will produce more all-stars then any draft in the past 10 years. If danny can hit on 2 out of 3 picks along with the fact that JJ looks to at least be a good 3rd big we would be ahead of schedule on our rebuild.

Granted this years class might not have the super stars Melo,Wade and Lebron that 2003 did. However there will be more all-star and more repeat all stars from this class. 2003 all-stars include West,J Howard, Kaman, and Mo williams not exactly all-star game regulars.
