Celts up 14 with just under 5 minutes to go and the crowd starts with the Scalabrine chant.  Next thing we know they're hanging on for dear life.  One thing a good team doesn't like is to be counted out of a game prematurely.  Bad timing by the crowd.

I love Scal, and it's still fun to see him out there for the Bulls, but for goodness sake he's no longer ours to use as a victory cigar.  Cheer for the guy when he's in there in a blowout, but give the chant a rest already.

...rant over

Maybe they should've just shouted "Gino! Gino!..."
 ;D

Agree 100 percent. It was embarrassing to be there and have to sit through that. The new generation of pink hat fans.......  But, they will probably be leaving soon as the Celts fade for a couple of years, and that will be fine with me.

Nice. That's what I am looking forward to, the Celtics fading away for a couple years. Good times.

is there anyone that would truly miss the pink hat brigade?

The Scal chant was bogus when he was here.  no reason for it when he's gone.

I do agree, the Scalabrine chants are annoying (though a tad funny)

I have only been in one verbal altercation in all the Celtics games I have attended (over 75)...

Obnoxious Lakers fan?

No.

Overly negative fan?

No.

Drunk fan?

No.

Pink hat?

No.

One idiot who decides to obnoxiously, and loudly call for Gino early in the 4th quarter of a 20 point game that the Celtics nearly let slip away (but wound up winning)?

Yup...

I think it's pretty smart. If they had put him in, the game probably wouldn't have tightened up like that.

Haha, TP. But yeah, I was cringing a bit when the chants started. Also, when the camera cut to his face, Scal did not look happy.
