Another Rondo triple-double

Is it just me because it seemed like Rondo had no joy in his game despite dominating. When the young guys ran with him and he could "do his thing", I expected to see some sort of pleasure on his face. However I just saw the old plow horse doing his job one more time. I wonder how much all the "crap" that he takes is getting to him.

have long have you been watching the celtics? when has Rondo ever looked pleased?

His defense tonight was absolutely pathetic.  If the Bulls have a slightly better shooting night they win.

He placed so much pressure on our bigs, the lanes just opened up too easily.  Our perimeter defenders were then forced to collapse (albeit almost always too late) opening up the 3 point line.

As good a night he had on the offensive side, i feel he more than offset it with his terrible D.

Thankfully Wilcox brought some good energy on the D boards, and KG was a workhorse down in the paint.  Trade him.

32 points, 15 assists and 10 boards and your worried he was out of position for a few plays, give me a break.

Doc didn't seem to think we needed D as Bradley didn't play that much.  Rondo has always been a gambler.  But when he runs a guy will snowbird a little or cherry pick.   It got us easy buckets at times.

His inability to fight through screens, or go under screens for that matter, caused us massive problems on D.

As for the remark that "Doc didnt seem to think we needed the D"....  Rondo was aggressive offensively today.  Kudos to him for that. Doc was hardly going to take him out when he did have it going.

Rondo took advantage of a tired team today.  Thats all he did. Their energy levels were made evident by their shooting performance.

Men lie Women lie & #'s always do in the NBA. Don't believe the hype about Rondo's tripple double. All I witnessed was his trade value going up.  

We struggled 2nite playing a team without their best player & starting shooting guard. Not a legitimately win.

  What's Chicago's record this season without Rose?   They have been consistently winning without the reigning MVP on and off all season long.

Well, i love what the guy can bring to the table.  Though i'm fence-sitting on a ROndo trade, i feel he can bring much more positive play to the team than detrimental play.

I just think tonights game was very misleading.  

It is hard to overlook the impact he had on the stat sheet, but i feel his defense almost cost us the game against a Bulls team missing DRose.

Watson had a relatively poor shooting night, but still managed to toss up 20+ shots scoring 20+ points.  To leave a 46% 3PT shooter open so many times really goes against what our team strives to achieve defensively.  Rondo got lucky Watson didnt drop 35 on us.

Kudos to the rest of the team for playing solid perimeter D though, especially PP's defense on Luol Deng.

 We played a team with a top 3 offense and held them to about 10 points less than they'd normally get from the same number of possessions. The opposing point guard was 8-23 and a couple of those makes came from broken plays when Rondo wasn't guarding him. We didn't have massive problems on D, and Rondo held his man in check for most of the game.

   Do people watch the games here or just comment based on opinion?  Rondo played as good a defense as possible yesterday.  He absolutely shut down Watson who is having a career year shooting.  Much of Watson's few points came against Bradley and three points after our bigs fail to get the rebound and Rondo is running for the fast break  (Watson had 22 points in 8/23 shooting.  Most of his points coming on Bradley fouls, 3 from broken plays and desperation shots).  It was a pleasure watching him play.  One of the greatest regular season performances in history.

I don't think it becuz of that. But when a player has a triple double and the team gets the win and all you can focus on is his flaws and what he didn't do. I would say you just dont like the player. Also when the team loses, he's the only one who gets the blame.

So, that win you speak of could have quite easily been a loss.....against a Rose-less Bulls.

That shouldnt happen, especially after the Raptors loss.

The elder statesmen really knuckled down defensively in this game, especially KG, who was missing front court mates JO and BB.

I really liked his agressiveness though.  It was refreshing to see after his fairly timid play lately.

Rose is a great player, but the Bulls are better defensively without him.  He's not like Dirk Nowitzki or Dwight Howard in the sense that his team can continue to win without him.  Whats scary about the Bulls is that they are a great, deep team.  Not any one player.

Tons of Rondo bashing on this thread. Not many players can put up 30/10/15 like he did. He was the dominant. Defense might have sputtered tonight but it doesn't matter with out him we lose by 20. Rondo was responsible for 60+ points alone tonight between his 30 and assists. I'll take that.
