Heard this trade on multiple posts of CB. Though I learnt it goes against the free agent rule that a player acquired in the offseason cannot be traded until March 1st.

So hows this CelticNation?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=74w3jwr

Maybe, send Dooling and/or a 1rd pick to Houston

Final Line-Up:
PG Lowry/Dooling/Moore
SG Allen/Quis/Bradley
SF Pierce/Pietrus/Pavlovic
PF Garnett/Bass/Johnson
C  Scola/Hill/Wilcox

*Notes:
1. Yes, Scola isn't that 'pro' at getting boards and undersized, though he's a replica defender like Big Baby (hustle, stamina, charges[sorry JO!], etc.) And he's excellent at developing his shots.
2. Lowry is an excellent replacement for Rondo. Those who don't know him, scout on Houston games. He can board, shoot, drive, dish, pickpocket... WHAT ELSE DO WE NEED CELTIC FANS! He's amazing as a player and we can actually rely on him if the old big 3 gets cold.
3. Fans please, Rondo is a good player but he is not for this team's future, he is not reliable and this is almost a perfect bundle to get from his trade value.
4. Our offseason cap for 2013 would be down for almost 7million but hey, we get two excellent&young bigs!
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

Would love it for Dalembert not Scola. Scola is better but not a Center.

Well, also understand the trade 'rumor' is coming from CB posters, who read the Rockets were still pursuing Gasol, but the Lakers want a PG back, and the Rockets aren't trading Kyle Lowry.

To reiterate, they're not trading Lowry for Gasol. That's where the rumor came from.

I say this, because Lowry is a binky, and I'd love this trade.

Lowry is a little beast and I have a feeling Danny would do this trade in a heartbeat...

Lowry is playing at a near all star level. This is one player I'd consider trading Rajon to. Adding Dalembert to the deal makes it more sweeter, but Houston won't do it.

Dalembert is playing at a high leel right now. This is giving up too much for Rondo.

Rondo and Clips 1st for Lowry, Thabeet and their 1st. This is the deal. (for me at least)
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I'd do that. You're upgrading the pick plus getting a good all round point in Lowry..

What it really does for Houston is they get a piece they can use to land Gasol. There's no question Rondo is better than Lowry, shooting wise though not. But it's not a bad deal.

We upgrade ou first too.

We also get Hasheem Thabeet. I am really high on him. He's considered a bust but really I think it's just a matter of him playing what he's not, a post up center. If Doc and the coaching staff can instill in his mind that he's a defensive presence and rebounder, in the mold DeAndre Jordan, it would lose some off the pressure off him and play much better. Although his work ethic is a question, but with JO a shell of himself now, is it much of a big gamble to put Thabeet in instead?

I'm a no Rondo trade guy. But this is one good deal for us. Certainly for Houston too.

I'd do Lowry and Dalembert in a heartbeat. I wouldn't worry about the March 1 thing, nobody is going to be making deals anytime soon, with the deadline on March 15.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

I'm not against trading Rondo or anyone else for that matter.

Of all of the many trade Rondo scenarios posted here this is one of the few that makes sense to me.

Trading Rondo for Nash is silly IMO. Lets put together an All-Star Team from 2002 and see if it can compete in 2012.  That's a bad joke.

Getting another young, very good PG and a useful BIG with some skill who isn't a couple of years from applying for his AARP card in return for a 25 year old All-Star PG and filler makes some sense to me.

Lowry can flat out score the basketball...imagine how much better our spacing would be if the other team's defender had to cover our PG's shot.

Not to mention the putbacks/finishing round the rim that dalembert could bring.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Here's what the Rockets fans have to say:

http://www.thedreamshake.com/2012/2/12/2793026/lowry-dalambert-for-rajon-rondo

so far they don't seem interested and feel that Lowry>Rondo
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
