By the end of the season, how far will Jeremy Lin go?

I'm going to say he's going to be a "First guy(s) coming off the bench"-type player (something like 8-10 pts and 3/4 assists in 15-20 minutes).

He might still start for the Knicks but being scouted would decrease his production to being a top-of-the-bench caliber player.

Don't get me wrong, his decision making is wonderful but he won't really be starting caliber until next season/the season after that in my opinion.

But then again, he's playing 40 minutes a pop and is really coping with the fatigue.

I hope this stays interesting throughout the season (meaning he continues at least producing). Gotta root for the underdog.

His first few games I was just saying dumb luck it won't last but 38 pts against the lakers was impressive. I watched he highlight vid after hes got skills. If he cuts down the turnovers hes golden I could see the kid getting 12-25 pts a game with 5-10 assists hes a quality player, just slept on (like many ivy league players)

I just wish he didn't play for the knicks though... its so hard to watch them now cause I still want them to lose but I want lin to do well (though it seems like they cant lose when he plays haha)

He will be a [dang] star. The guy's good, very good. He would have easily had 20 points at half today were it not for the fact that some of his earlier shots, in pretty cruel fashion, just simply rolled out.

He also has a very solid shot. Did you see some of the things he managed to score today? He's playing at a high enough level to be classified a star in my book. This Knicks team if it makes it to the playoffs, which is a safe bet, is going to cause some serious problems for some teams, I feel.

Their bench guys are pretty much getting a ton of practice right now and confidence. Then when Amare and Melo come back, Lin will have even more talent and scoring ability helping him out. I've already seen an example of what that would look like in the Nets game. They can work well together. Of this, I'm certain.

Not particularly quick and can't dribble particularly well with his left hand. Teams will figure him out and he will return deep to the bench where he belongs.

One the other hand, sometimes your shots just roll in, so no one should get a pass for their "shots rolling out". Don't hit the rim and you won't have to worry about that.

I hope he can still be effective when sticky-hands Melo returns. Hopefully Melo returning will be enough to upset their flow and return them to losing, but without ruining Lin's flow.

That's the key to me.  He is a guy who found the right system for him to thrive.

  Statistically he will level off once Carmelo returns and goes back to stopping ball movement and jacking up ill advised shots.

   NY needs to dump Carmelo.  They thought they were getting a franchise player and they paid for a franchise player, but he's not that.  He's a great scorer who needs the ball in his hands a whole lot to be successful, that doesn't defend or do much other then score to help you win games.  He's also a terrible fit in D'Antoni's system.

Definitely this.  PGs who are borderline starters can thrive in D'Antoni's system, but I do think Lin is/was better than anyone gave him credit for.. it will just be interesting to see what happens when Amare and Melo come back, if Lin continues to have success when he's not the guy.

The only reason Lin even got an opportunity is the NYK tried 3 or 4 guys at point while waiting for Baron to return and they all failed.  Lin came in and didn't just get the job but he's putting up all star numbers to boot.  I'm not saying this kid is going to be an all star or anything as it's only a small sample.  But the point is you either have skill or you don't; the system isn't going to turn you from an end of the bench guy to a starter; you have to have it.  So what about the other guys who couldn't hack it at PG for the NYK?

Look at a guy like Nash; he's the same player in D'Antoni's system or out of it; because bottom line is he has talent.

I've decided to not like Lin just cause.....you know those guys you just don't like? I've decided not to like him officially cause he's a Knick and a Harvard guy
