If KG had boxed out Gasol, we would have won this game definitely. It was that simple but he just didn't do it. sigh

Gasol and Bynum outrebounded the starting five! We really need a good center!
And KG shooting 6 for 23? Ughhh!

If KG boxed out, the Cs would have one more banner and the Lakers one less.  Just sayin.

KG refuses to box out, and can't jump over everyone anymore, and that's why he's not a good defensive rebounder anymore.  And to think he led the league in rpg the four seasons before coming to Boston.  His rebounding fell off a cliff as soon as he put on the green. 

BTW, KG was one of only four players to lead the league in rpg four consecutive years.  The others were Wilt, Moses and Rodman.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
KG had a bad night, Pierce had a bad night.
We didn't have Bradley or Dooling to back up Rondo.
Only lost by a point when Bynum and Gasol were beasting.
Not too worried/disappointed with the loss.

Sometimes your key guys have a bad night, KG will remember this the next time they play.

Kg was helping so much and was out of position a ton. Especially when rondo was doing his AWESOME reach around defensive move

All in all, this is the way I feel. Our players all seemed to have off nights. Against the Lakers no less, which is criminal. Have your off nights against the Raptors or the Bobcats. You need to be jacked up for the Lakers.

Unfortunately in the end it looks like a statement game to everybody and the statement is....Celtics Lost. Lakers won. Lakers must be better than us.

If the Celtics have their A game, I think we beat that team up and down. But they came in looking intimidated and played that way too. In the end, they had off nights. We're better than what we played last night. I realize it. I hope they realize.

Seasons not over. They have it in them to come back from this even better. Not worse.

I still believe.

Because he was 4th in the NBA in defensive rebounding percentage,  does that mean he boxes out?

And does it mean he's anywhere near as good a rebounder as he was in Minny?

It was not only KG.  Ray was standing there watching Kobe's shot go up as well and refusing to box out.

As for KG, his lack of rebounding is less cause for concern than his absolute refusal to finish strong at the rim anymore.  At 7 feet, I cannot comprehend how he continues to lollipop the ball towards the basket when he can flush it down against opposing players that he has significant size advantages against. 

Absolutely maddening to see him falling away from the hoop and throwing up finesse shots (which often don't go in) instead of going strong.

Time for him to man up and finish strong!

  He could have made a few more of his layups as well. Maybe we should try and get Giselle to say "Rondo can't pass the ball to a player and then shoot it for them as well!".
