There is nothing better than beating Carolina....NOTHING!

Except for beating them on a play like that.

Are people serious, isn't the kid going to go fast ?

His handles and driving to the rim is Wade like
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

My wife and I are Carolina grads, and I called that Rivers would pull up for a 3 as soon as Duke got that FT rebound.  We were screaming at Zeller to close in and get his hands up, but nope, just had to watch.   :-[

Great shot though.  And very telling that Rivers outdueled Barnes for the most part despite being a year younger.  He's going to be a very good pro I think.

And my #1 team is Syracuse, so I went .500 for the night, at least.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Hazaahh! Take a look at good ol' Doc Rivers in this video, jumping up and down with joy and hugging some random duke fan...

His stock fell rather quickly, as he had troubles adjusting to the college game. Some mock draft had him as low as around 20. But I guess that this game will get him on the rise again.

I was also impressed with Mason Plumlee's 14 boards against UNC's front court.  I think we ought to target him as he might fall to us.   He could be a poor man's Blake Griffith.

I covet both Rivers and Plumlee and I am no Duke fan but they could be in the realistic range for us.

I'd prefer Meyers Leonard. I think he has a more complete game and he's a sophomore. Not sure if he comes out or not, though.

As for the UNC/Duke game - I'm sure that Doc was proud of his son last night. Wow!

I didn't watch it too closely but was listening to it. Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale made a great team, even if they're two Dukies. They said good things about UNC all night.

I like UNC. I love Duke.  Duke is like my only Yankeeish thing I love. Coach K is the new Wooden and he'll go down that way assuming he doesn't have a scandal where he immediately reports what he is told to the AD and University Police, but everyone drops the ball and he doesn't magically fix everything.

Does anyone think that he might come out this year simply if he's in the Celtics range?

I wonder if he wants to play for Doc and if Doc wants to coach him. If they want to play/coach together, that might be more arrangeable than we think. If he stays in another year he'd likely go shooting up the boards to be a solid top 10 pick in 2013. Assuming the Celtics don't suck in 2012-13, he'd be way out of their range.

Maybe he comes out now, knowing it might be his best opportunity to land on the C's with his Dad...
