It still hasn't been all that long since his knee surgery...He only played a bit last year.  Next year will be Perk's year to become more Perk-like again on the court.
He played better for them last year though, that is what is confusing to me.

Not surprising everybody rips Lebron. A lot of people reacted to Griffin's dunk, but Lebron's tweet made me scratch my head, because he actually mentioned Perkins name in his tweet, which I thought was rude because u don't name drop another player.

Lebron is a talented athlete, but he's a fool personality wise.

And last year, everyone on here was talking about how THIS year would be Perks big comeback year (after what we thought was a down year last year).

I think the system has a lot to do in why his dip in numbers. Its harder to get rebounds when you are constantly setting screens for Russ and Durant and away from the basket, also OKC completely ignores him he barely even touches the ball.

Best quote

Quote
"If I was in the same position, in the same rotation, I'm going to jump again and again and again," Perkins said, according to Yahoo! Sports. "A lot of people are afraid of humiliation or don't know how to handle embarrassment or would even get embarrassed. I don't care."

Perk should go all Kevin Love and step on Lebron's face if given the opportunity.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but do the posters who are constantly criticizing Perk's play this year watch a lot of OKC games, or just look at the stats? I've watched almost all their games this season, and Perk has been solid on the defensive end, and has been very good on offense setting picks in order to get OKC sharpshooters like KD and Harden open for jumpers, and Westbrook freed up for forays to the hoop. That's Perk's role on the offensive end/  The dupm the ball to him in the low post about once per half, and Perk bumps, grinds, and slow gathers his way to the hoop, usually unsuccessfully. The rest of the game it's set picks. he certainly isn't getting a bunch of easy looks right at the hoops like when he played with three HOFers and pass first buddy Rondo.

OKC is a weird team.  Durant, their SF, is their leading rebounder.  Perk does a good job boxing his man off the offensive glass, and OKC gets the 4th most rebounds per game in the league.  That's Perk's role, to muck up the paint and box out.  Perk's never been a great rebounder.  he boxes out well, and if the ball caroms near his long arms, he gets the rebound.  He has never had the ability to go fetch rebounds.  They get 20 rebounds a night from their four bigs, less than half of their 43 rpg.

Perk's numbers are down for sure, but his role isn't going to help in that regard.  At the offensive end, his role is akin to a football lineman.  He sets great picks, which is important to OKC's offense, one of the best in the league.  Despite being slimmer, his shooting percentage is 10 points below his career average of 55%, which is very poor for a wide body who takes most of his shots right near the hoop. He's at his career mark of 1.4 points per shot, mostly due to markedly improved FT shooting - 77%, 20 points better than his past four years percentage.

OKC is 20-5, and everything I hear out of OKC from the team and it's fans is peachy. Check out a few Thunder fan forums.  There's no hand ringing about Perk's rebound rate or 4.6 ppg production, and their thrilled with Perk and the attitude he brings to their team.

There's my Perk report from a guy who watched almost the entire season of Thunder basketball.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Perkins is being the whiney punk in this one.
Who cares if Lebron tweeted that?
It was an awesome dunk and was definitely not 'normal' LOL.
How many guys could do that in an NBA game?
Get out of here.
Perk got schooled, dunked on.
Who cares and don't be such a girl.
He's overpaid, he's overrated, he'd play backup center for half the teams in the NBA anyway.
Want to know the reason OKC won't win a flag with him?
He's not good enough. Can't rebound, can play decent defense, has zero lift, terrible at converting under the ring, gets blocked easily.

Lebron told it how it was and now he's the punk?
It was exactly what he said it was; a great dunk on Kendrick Perkins. Stop crying you overpaid goon.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Lebron would be better off marying Kim Kardashian.. They'd make a  lot of cute tweets together!  ;D

As for Perk... Hey, at least you're No.1 in something!   ;)

I agree with the first part of this, not so much the latter part. I like Perk, he's a solid player but he's the one being the cry baby. Everyone tweeted after that dunk.. but he goes after Lebron? Come on Perk you"re better then that!

Lebron sucks.  Here's his quote when responding to Perk's quote, and Larry saying he'd take Kobe on his team:

Quote
"I'm an easy target; if someone wants to get a point across -- just throw LeBron's name in there," James said. "You could be watching cartoons with your kids and you don't like it, you say, 'Blame it on LeBron.' If you go to the grocery store and they don't have the milk that you like, you just say, 'It's LeBron's fault.' "

Poor Lebron, he's got it so bad.  Whiny punk.
