As you all know, after Griffin dunked on Perk, Lebron tweeted about it and Perkins had this to say

“You don’t see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting,” Perkins said. “You don’t see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you’re an elite player, plays like that don’t excite you. At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play.

“They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2. I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him.”

This is so true!, can't say it any better myself...He also mentions what KG taught him back in Boston and how he will still challenge dunks 10/10 times...

I miss Perk :(

"If I was in the same position, in the same rotation, I'm going to jump again and again and again," Perkins said, according to Yahoo! Sports. "A lot of people are afraid of humiliation or don't know how to handle embarrassment or would even get embarrassed. I don't care."

Yeah, I really liked that quote.  Absolutely the mindset a guy like Perk has to have.  Too many great players in the NBA to not get dunked on sometimes, but you've gotta have the relief pitcher mentality and just get up and try to do better next time.

Has Perk been suspended yet?  Or at least fined heavily for these incendiary comments?

How dare he blastphemize the messiah?

Perk makes a great observation about the league that was unfortunately buried by the glare of mentioning Lebron:

Why do so many players not even try to contest dunks?  It's not an easy shot to finish over someone, so the chances of at least making them earn it at the line vs. waltzing in for a flush are pretty good.  Plus, players are unlikely to change to a roll-in, off the glass, or anything else once they've committed to dunk and their eyes got all big.

Perk is surely old school.  In a good way.

But I sure do wish this criticism of the league in general got more attention than the criticism of his holiness.

Man Perk hates Lebron haha.  They really do just seem like two completely different people.

On a serious note though, Perk needs to snap out of his funk sometime soon.

Yeah he does, only 11.7 rebounding rate isn't Perk neither is 45% shooting.

What's even worse is that the Thunder are 24th in DReb% and 17th in OReb% so there are plenty of boards to be had out there.

Everybody gets dunked on at one point in their careers. Even Shaq, Ewing (how can I ever forget MJ...), Dream, Sir Charles, Dikembe. It's inevitable and although those plays are spectacular and exciting, too much attention is being put on the "embarassment" factor. Why can't fans just view it as an exciting dunk and be over with it...

It still hasn't been all that long since his knee surgery...He only played a bit last year.  Next year will be Perk's year to become more Perk-like again on the court.
