Bos trades: Rondo, Allen, O’Neal, Wilcox, 2 1st rd picks
Bos receives: Howard, Redick

Indiana Trades: Granger, Hibbert, Collison
Indiana Receives: Rondo, Allen, Wilcox

Orlando trades: Howard, Redick
Orlando receives: Granger, Hibbert, Collison, O’Neal, 1st rd picks from Bos

Bradley/Dooling/Moore
Pierce/Redick
Pietrus/Daniels/Pavlovich
KG/Bass/JJ
Howard/Steimsma

Leaves C’s very weak offensively at PG and thin personnel wise at center position but gives them a dominant defensive look with first squad. (08 anybody?)
Indiana gets sought after franchise PG in Rondo and sorely needed outside shooting from Ray.  Ray’s expiring gives them flexibility to get top notch FA guard and big to pair with Rondo and West and extend Paul George.
Magic get scoring in Granger and top 10 big man with Hibbert.  Loads of salary coming off books allows for extensions to Ryan Anderson and Hibbert.  3 1st rd picks to work with in talented draft.  Perhaps package Nelson and pick to move up and get guard prospect (Jeremy Lamb or Beal from Florida)

All that said, Magic probably still look for Rondo in package to let go of Howard.

This only makes Indiana worse and older. Why do they do this?

Older for this season, sure. If they think they are a legit threat to Miami or Chicago with the team they have now, then they're crazy IMO.  Moving forward they are a year in, year out middle of the road Eastern conference playoff team with second round exit written all over them.  I believe a lot of their success thus far can be attributed to their youth and depth, but they lack a guy that can take over a game on either end of the floor.

I agree it is a lot to give up for Rondo but he is a drastic improvement over what they have and it gives them better opportunity to bring in big time FA's for more complete team next year and years to come.
