In a win of course. Just so he can pass Larry Bird in points against the Fakers thursday night.

It was sweet watching Ray break the 3 point record against them last year and would be even sweeter to see Pierce break this one against them considering he's a career Celtic.  ;D
Not to mention it's a home game.

No way, I picked Pierce in PAPOUG today because I was hoping the thrill of passing Bird would result in an amazing outing from him tonight.

Although if I don't consider that, doing it against the Lakers would be pretty cool.

You guys are nuts.  Last year I absolutely HATED the fact that Ray was going to break the record against the lakers because a loss would mean I would be devasted after the game regardless.  And that is exactly what happened.

I want PP to get this out of the way now so that we can concentrate on winning the game Thursday because that is what is MOST important.

He either has a stinker tonight or against the Lakers. If he passes it tonight it's near certain he'll be terrible on Thursday. I.e. Sugar Ray last year.

Took the words right outta my mouth. As soon as i saw this i thought of ray's game last year and how we were so hyped over that it seemed we were distracted and kobe took advantage like he should've. Not saying it led directly to our loss but i want no distractions against the fakers

Agreed.  It was awesome watching Ray break the record against LA last year.......well, I guess this one doesn't really matter since it isn't a record.  Still cool for Celtic fans tho

No I hope he breaks it tonight so it doesn't become a distraction during the Lakers game. Last year it was Ray making the most 3 pts and it took alot of energy off the team with that break for a few mins.

Just do it tonight and beat the Bobcats.

Nott sure.  I mean the Celtics were on their game when Ray came out shooting for the record.  It was after he got it and stopped with the agressiveness that we handed the game back to LA

I totally agree.  Never, ever hope for a negative in sports.  It is bad karma.

Win first.  Stats and honors will take care of themselves.

I would not have the distraction during the Lakers.   They will being going out for us anyways so why add fuel to the fire.

So glad this didn't happen.  It was an OBVIOUS distraction last night and it would have hurt us in trying to beat the lakers.
