Tried this on ESPN trade machine and it works for us

Boston trades: Jermaine Oneal and Keyon Dooling
Houston trades: Luis Scola

We lose an old tired center and a often injured guard we get back a 15-8 player to help with KG and Bass.

Great for Boston.

Did Mchale push to give Boston a free gift?

Yeah, that'd be great, except I can't imagine they'd have any incentive to do this.

Ridiculous proposal from Houston's side.

I could maybe only see it if Houston goes on a big losing skid, decides it won't make the playoffs and doesn't want to keep paying an aging Scola for another few years (they've tried getting rid of him already) and demands a couple draft picks from Boston.

They didn't try to get rid of Scola.  They were going to end up with Pau Gasol.
