Long shift, over. Whew. Im wondering who's up now. And about my previous question as well, can I pick the China playing players?

You can pick people playing wherever you want, but understand you can't just magic them into the NBA. They have to honor their contracts as per FIBA Rules.

Suggestion for next year...in the contract everyone has to supply a cell phone number to the commish so if they go absent during this stage it doesn't hold up the team picks for a day or four. ;D
That's not a bad idea.

Here's a few others.
1. Draft deadline for picking teams just like the ones used for picking players.  Pick by then or forfeit your turn until the end.
2. Allow a 6-8 hour max from pick to pick (allowing for people who may be working to sneak onto the internet or to get home from work) before moving on to the next person.  Similar to what we do for players where if you miss your slot, the next person gets to select.  Always found that a pretty good incentive for being on time.
3. Have the commish assign a team to that person if no pick made within the allotted timeframe.  Getting stuck with Charlotte can be a nasty persuader to be timely with a pick.

Just some thoughts for next time.

Here are the rules the totalitarian despot of our staff fantasy draft imposed this year:

Quote
GMs will have four hours from the time they go "on the clock" to make a pick.  This rule will be in effect from 9:00am EST to 9:00pm EST.  If a player goes "on the clock" prior to 9:00am EST, they will have until 12:00pm EST to make their pick; if they go "on the clock" after 9:00pm EST, they will have until 9:45am the following day to make their pick.

If a GM doesn't make their pick in accordance with the above, the best available player according to Yahoo's rankings will be assigned to that GM's roster.

GMs are encouraged to provide lists, either to the Commissioner or to any other GM who will be available to make picks.

If a GM selects a player who has already been taken, that GM will have ten minutes to select a replacement player.  If that GM does not do so, the next GM may select a player.  If the original GM hasn't made a replacement pick within two hours, the best player available will be assigned.

It seemed to work out pretty well, although here there's not necessarily a list to find "best team available" on.

There are two season of TV I would hold up against any one hour drama-- With the understanding that i haven't gotten around to The Wire or Breaking Bad yet-- and those are Season 2 of Chuck and Season 3 of the West Wing.

Hmmm... that good, KC? Does it fall off at any point. I might have to invest some time into it.

Season 2 of Chuck was really good. Season 3 can...well it can go take a long walk off a short pier, that's what it can do.

It falls off in the sense that it becomes hit and miss all of a sudden because NBC kept jerking around with their episode orders. But Season 3 is solid ( With an amazing season finale), Season 4's highs are tremendous ( while the lows are just average TV) and Season 5 is a solid send-off for the characters you love.

Season 3 had some amazing episodes, it just took too long to make Shaw the villain. Which is too bad because Brandon Routh was awesome at being evil.

Chuck Sux and doesn't hold a candle to shows like Deadwood, Justified, The Wire, etc...

We can take this to fisticuffs if you want.

As good as Deadwood and Justified are, you can find all sorts of seasons of TV that are similar in quality, world-view and style. Chuck is... was... pretty singular as far as hour long dramas go and season 2 was it's best.
