Especially since in your scenario, you end up having Drexler out of position anyway.
Yeah, the lineup for the Hakeem team would be:
Terry Porter, Danny Ainge
Clyde Drexler
Jerome Kersey
Buck Williams, Cliff Robinson
Hakeem Olajuwon, Kevin Duckworth
That's a great team, just not as great as a Jordan team. However, I do think there's a chance that that team takes at least one title from the Jordan Bulls.
I actually believe that team is much more better situated to match up with teams like the Lakers, Celtics, and Pistons of the 80's/90's, and frankly I think is better than the first 3 Bulls title teams (and it isn't that close to me).
I don't think Jordan was a good fit there and no way him and Drexler would have developed into the players they became playing on the same team (same position too similar of games).
I really think you guys are underselling just how good the Dream was, I mean him and Sampson took a team full of unknowns to the Finals in just his second season (in the middle of the 80's hey day). At 32 when Dream and Drexler started playing together they were still incredibly dominate, I can only imagine how good they would have been playing together for a decade in their primes.
And lets not kid ourselves, as centers go the Dream is perhaps the most complete player of all time (Wilt is probably still #1 but Dream is right there). Incredible scorer, passer, defender, rebounder, and one of the best big man athletes ever. The Dream is the #1 shot blocker all time (i know they didn't have that stat early on). He is also 8th all time in steals, 9th in points, and 11th in rebounds. He also has over 3000 assists, which for centers is a lot.
