I know this may seem odd. but it would give us a better shot THIS year.

Offensively it would give us a boost and both incoming players have 2 years left so their contracts aren't terrible.

Seems Rondo needs to have shooters all around him and isn't the best piece to build around post big 3.  That seems to be the sentiment around the league..

After the trade

Big AL
KG
Pierce
Allen
Devon Harris

Bench
Bass, Pietrus, Bradley, Wilcox, Johnson, Daneils etc.

This would really allow us to play a better brand of offense.  With the energy group coming of the bench.

Utah can't keep all their bigs and Rondo would be the centerpiece for them.

they would still have Favours millsap and Kanter up front..

I do like this trade, but would want Utah to give us one of their two picks this year, either their own or the protected one they have from Golden State.

AlJeff gives us a legitimate double double center. (His ankle tendinitis had him in a boot before the game on Wed and this gives me pause and is why I would ask for the 1st round pick).

I know a lot of people here don't like Devin Harris, and he is not a very good true point guard, but as Rondo's absence showed, you can run the offense through Pierce without losing much and harris can shoot and hit free-throws.

What clinches it for me is that both AlJeff and Harris expire next year, which allows us to compete this year and next and gives us excellent cap flexibility this year  (Ray/KG expiring) and next (AlJeff and Harris expirings).

There are a bunch of very good true point guards in the draft and we could grab one of them.
