Our best trade pieces are Rondo, Rayray and Pierce. Other than that, we're selling expiring contracts. As others have mentioned before, Rondo and Ray cater to very specific needs. Indiana probably needs Rondo the most but they won't give up Hibbert. Contending teams want Ray but they won't give us anything significant.

As for free agents...its barren. God knows what D-Will and D12 want.

So...is our best shot not the draft? Is the best move to give up cap space for stuff like Josh Childress's contract or any contract on the Hawks to steal their picks?

By the time their contracts run out, our picks would start paying dividends.

It just won't work. Any team with a good pick is going to hold out for the draft, and it's not worth being in cap hell to trade for picks in the middle of the 1st.

If things continue the way they are going the team that's going to want cap space (and draft picks) the most is New York.

They are locked in to two superstar contracts long-term; adding Chandler has them sans cap space for the next 3 years; they traded away their 2012 and 2014 first rounders; they are currently on pace to miss the playoffs.

If we want Amare or Chandler, we might have a good shot.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

It might be the wrong year to do that sort of strategy.  A deep draft.  Some bad contracts that were jettisoned via the amnesty clause.  Teams with bad contracts that still have the amnesty clause to work with.  A lack of top free agents that make teams want to clear cap space.

You might be better off rolling Garnett and Allen over on one or more one-year contracts soaking up the available cap space until teams are ready to give away talent that's not massively overpaid in order to avoid the more punitive luxury tax.
