What were those plays at the end of the game?

Seriously, he draws something up for a corner three from steve novak instead of going to melo or stat when the opposition has a 2 point lead. Thats the best idea he went for?

I love that the knicks are boneheaded because we get more wins but sheesh.

No wonder they want his head in MSG.

If melos getting double teamed you get the ball to stat not a 3rd string shooter...

Why spend money on scorers if you're not going to go to them for points in the clutch?

I'm sure they tried, but failed.

Well they didnt really....If you watch the play again...they had fields inbounding with melo and douglas on the near side way above the 3pt line and novak in the near side corner so the lack  spacing really helped the celtics. Stat was the only guy on the weak side...standing on the elbow pretty much and not even looking for the ball.

Well after he was doubled, Amare was covered. Shumpert was open. So if you say that they'd rather risk a steal to pass to Stat or pass it to an open teammate who by the way is capable (im not saying he will but he can) of hitting from that range. And also, he tried to bring it back to Melo but he's covered, Stat is covered, Fields is open, also capable of hitting from that range although he missed (badly). If your saying that they should pass it to their scorers, even if tightly covered instead of passing it to open teammates is the right thing to do, then i disagree with your logic.

The pass to Novac was better than a 5 second violation.

I loved the play but on the flip side thinking about it, this strategy will NOT work against a legit contendor like the Heat or Bulls. We would have been killed with the 3 ball for doubling, that and that it took this holding on to our dear lives for the victory didn't sit too well w/ me.

ya, but I like the defensive strategy. You dont want the ball in the hands of your opponents best offensive players with the game on the line.

I would rather take my chances with a bench scrub beating you

So, you pretty much won't be happy unless the Celtics are blowing out teams left and right and never have any close games?

D'Antoni's technical foul late in that game was utterly foolish.  I predict he WILL be fired at some point this season.  He and the Knicks personnel are NOT a good fit at all.....

I agree with the OP.  I was thinking the same thing last night.

Can D'Antoni really be that incompetent of a coach?  He had no play made to make sure Mello got the ball.  I mean , the final effort was a joke , and for a "VERY BRIEF" moment I actually felt sorry for the Knicks.

I felt Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky we have Doc ,  had the situation been reversed , I'd gave us at least a 50% chance of winning the game .

NY didn't seem to be running a specific play , it looked like a see if we can get Mello the ball, if not ..then OH well???

Doc would have had a trick play up his sleeve to win the game.

With poor coaching ...NO PREPARATION is my perception .......NY will never go anywhere. They can't win a close game , the coach an't even prepared... ::)

I can believe they keep him around . He is joke .

Knicks in a STRUGGLE at home against the Nets tonight.  last score I saw late in the 3rd had the Nets LEADING by a point.

D'Antoni can hear it......  tick, tock...tick, tock.......
