and another thing that get's me mad about rondo is his free throw shooting,i don't care if he doesn't shoot the 3 ball or if his mid range shot is suspect i just want him to make those freethrows he needs to change his shooting form, just look at shawn Marion,Cartwright,Michael Adams, if those guys shot regular free throws it would be horrible but those 3 found a form that worked for them and rondo needs to follow that.

Its still early in the season and he is still coming back off his wrist injury, so I dont want to be too hard on his shooting yet, but it certainly doesnt look like there's been much improvement

Rondo was better today overall.  But his lack of a decent jump shot is killing us. Not to mention free throws,  Too many times the clock is down and he is the only guy with a wide open shot..teams are doing this on purpose casue they know he isn't likey to shoot or hit ..but he won't take it , so he passes it and we barely get a shot off , waste of clock.  He needs to man up and practice shooting and learn to hit 17 foot jumpers.   The other teams are packing the D in on Ray and Paul .  This is why I think Moore is the better guard  , he can make the defense pay for backing off him with the shot clock winding down. I still prefer AB/ Ray /Combo. Rondo needs to go back to  shooting school 101 learn to shoot the ball.

his 14 assist is very good but 2-3 of his TO could definitely be controlled better...like one where he threw it over KG's head, bullet pass to Bradley after Johnson's jumpball, and trying to force an alley oop to Johnson

Rondo's the best option for this team period. Is he perfect? No, of course not. But I don't understand how getting 15 assists the equivalent to "hurting Celtics' offensive options". His jump shot is poor, sure. But are you really saying that Bradley's is significantly better? Bradley who averages 6.8 points and 2.6 assists as a starter? Come on. You know a thread is getting ridiculous when Allen Iverson is being thrown around as an option.

Rondo has his flaws, but he mostly definitely makes the Celtics a better team, especially offensively. It'd be much more productive to post a thread about our problems at center than this.

He needs to car pool with Rondo to that "shooting school 101" too. Only jumpshot he put up today hit the backboard.  I mean, ONLY the backboard lol

And no ones going to make a post about our deficiencies at center, on a day when all of our bigs from KG to wilcox, to JO, to JJJ looked good.  Only spot where we looked suspect today was the point.

14 assists is great if you look at it in isolation, but when they maybe come as a result of forcing passes, turning down higher % shots to have teammates shoot more difficult shots, and go along with 5 turnovers, it's not all good.

They are allowed up to two dribbles for an assist to count.  A lot of those TOs I saw guys not ready for the pass.

why doesn't rondo look to score more i just don't get it no reason he should only have 5 points he should have 15 or 16 at least a game

Contrary to what some think, Rondo is not a good scorer. He just has moments where he piles it up, but that's mostly when he's getting some unbelievably lucky layups to go down, or when he catches defenses off guard. Rondo is not a scorer. Maybe he can develop into one down the road, but as of right now he is not a scorer.

I wasn't referring to Rondo's performance in today's game. I was very pleased with his performance today. I'm referring to his performance in the last game. I also didn't suggest removing Rondo as a starter. You really gotta read what people say before responding :)

Iverson is a joke.

Haha. He's been hitting those shots for years. Maybe by the time he's 30 you'll figure out that it's not luck. And catching defenses off guard is a great skill to have, that's also one of the reasons he's such a great passer.

A) Rondo does not suck at defense.  The 2 games hes been back, look at the box score for Shumpert's and Conley's performances.

B) Rondos mid-range game is acceptable

C) Yes, his free throw shooting sucks and is inexcusable

D) His standing at the top of the key is due to playcalling that has people running off screens for 15 seconds.  I hate watching it.

Well the past two games haven't been Rondo's best certainly, but the C's offense has done well against two top 10 defenses.

The Knicks are 10th and Memphis is 8th as far as defensive efficiency.

Knicks  game 107.7 ORtg
Memphis game 108.9 ORtg

Given that the C's season average is around 102 ORtg that's pretty good.

Pretty surprising that the Knicks are actually a decent defensive squad this year.  Too bad their offense is pretty terrible.

What do you think they paid Chandler all that money for?
