  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I watch every game without fail, normally live, I have league pass which helps if I miss one.
I don't care if they're bottom of league, they'll get back to the top eventually and that's the exciting part about this. We have Danny, doc, wyc and the right guys to bring success and some nice young pieces to build around. Playing a lottery stretch of years is fine with me because getting a shot at the next oden or durant is exciting.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I love watching this team whether they are bad or good.
Pretty much.

If you are on the bandwagon feel free to hop off.

The fact that a person doesn't enjoy watching the team go through painful stretches on offense or go through the motions on defense some nights doesn't mean they are "jumping off the bandwagon."

Agreed 100 %

people are free to do what they like, but by definition, a bandwagon fan watches the team only when they are successful.

people can do whatever they want.  me personally, i have watched the celts for about 30 yrs thru all the great times and bad.

Seriously, EVERY single game thats been televised here in Seattle they go on numerous stretches where they dont score.NUMEROUS, 10 minutes 5 points doesnt cut it in the NBA anymore, even BAD teams score more than this team and with all the weapons, somethings got to give or someones got to go. I can't stand to watch it, in fact it makes me ill to watch and I turn it off. Theres something horribly wrong with this team and if the only reason they are playing is because doc has them believing than so be it. He might have them fooled but theres something WAY off about this C's team. They arent any fun for me to watch anymore sadly and they've always been my team and have my 3 favorite players on it.

signed, a sickened to death fan

I'm a big C fan... Yes they really have a problem scoring but the defense is still there. agree with someone has to go, but Im a C fan i will still watch this team.

Rey never mentioned succesfull they just mention when the team lose as a way to avoid nervous breakdown or similars
He sees the games they win even in 20 win seasons.

If I watched during the late 80's and into the 90's (ugh), then this period for the C's is cake, to me.

I survived Montross!

I survived Dino!

I survived Potapenko!

no, a bandwagon fan only pays attention / cares about a team when they are successful.

you can be a hardcore fan of a team and follow them very closely, but refuse to watch them play if they are playing like crap.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I think a hardcore fan will still watch them if they like crap but be vocal about it.  I do think they'd be far less likely to attend games for a team that doesn't put out the effort.  Personally, after attending a number of games the previous 2 seasons and watching them sleepwalk through losses to the Nets, Knicks, Bullets and other scrub teams, I refused to buy tickets to games this year.  I had no issue with buying tickets before the Sheed year whether the team was good or not because the players tried to actually win the game by playing hard.

THIS! 100 TIMES! I grew up watching the C's. I vividly remember PP being my fave out of College ( go fig I was a huge UC Bearcat fan), listening to the draft on Internet radio way back then, heart pounding hoping they would get PP, then RAY, then KG, all my fave players on the C's. CHAMPIONSHIP. Now this. I don't live and die by the C's but my heart rate goes through the roof and I get so into it emotionally, always been that way about sports, dont know why, it kind of sucks. But this is why its hard for me to watch this team like Geriatrics continue to play. All I can do is reminisce.

I'm a die hard Celtics fan, so I will watch every game whenever they play...show my support

its frustrating that they lose but hey, Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. happens. Deep down i know where this celtics team will go, but I will still support and believe in them til the very end!

Yes ..you can say you earned the "purple heart" . ;D

those were the dark days for sure, it was much easier to to do something elseother than Celtics basketball..,  maybe clean the toilets in the house or any other excuse to turn the TV off.
