I only watch those taped games of the one we win. Ive never watched the Celtics lose a game in 30 years. I watch them win; I rwead about their loses; and Im a happy camper. Why should I bother about guys I dont know. I watch movies that will make me happy and I dont watch those that will stress me. Same thing. life is to short to worry about the unworriyable. What has PP, KG, Doc, Rondo done for me lately, that I should worry about their problems. I worry about them the same way I worry about Forrest Gump.

You arent serious about never watching the Celtics lose are you?

that wouldn't leave a whole lot of games to watch some years
Yup

No, Im serious; why should I lie? I taped the games; I check the chatroom or ESPN. If we win, I watch it; if we lose, I erased the tape and tape the next one. Its no big deal. Why am I going to get stressed by people I dont even know. Ive been doing this since the Bird era. Keeps my stress under control. Im not lying.

I love watching this team whether they are bad or good.

I love basketball and love my Celtics.

Been watching just about every game I could since the start of the 1981 season, through good or bad. I've seen this year before.

I started listening to them on the radio in the mid 70's and watching them on TV whenever they were on.  I had to get Boston radio from Burlington, Vermont so the reception was in and out throughout the game but I listened through the good times and the bad times.  Johhny Most was even more of a homer then Tommy Heinshon.

Now I live in North Carolina and thanks to Tivo and NBA League Pass I think I have missed maybe 5 games since League Pass debuted.

Win or lose they're my team.

I don't mind watching them lose, although I kind of prefer to watch a bunch of young guys with potential who are improving lose then watching old guys who are declining lose.

Because I have done so since 1968. End of Story. Of course I can't watch every game due to my life situation but I show up to watch wherever I can. I intend to keep watching them until I die or go blind. If I go blind then I will listen on the radio.

They are struggling this season but there is an opportunity to get better as long as there are games to be played.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Ok, uh, wow ???

That just sounds strange.  Oddest style of fandom I've ever heard of.  But hey, to each their own.  If it works for you, and keeps you happy, more power to you.

Myself on the other hand, I'm an addict.  I just have to watch, even when they stink.  Maybe that's strange to others though.

Add my wife to the list of those that can't stand to watch this team anymore. When we go on those scoring droughts the OP mentioned coupled with the other team continuing to score and the point gap goes from 4 to 12+ so quickly, she just gets deflated and zones out on her phone/ipad. She knows every guy on the team, where they came from, where they should be, and what they should be doing. She just can't stand the scoring droughts and ultimately the losses anymore.

I love watching this team whether they are bad or good.
Pretty much.

If you are on the bandwagon feel free to hop off.

The fact that a person doesn't enjoy watching the team go through painful stretches on offense or go through the motions on defense some nights doesn't mean they are "jumping off the bandwagon."

Right I mean I'll always cheer for the Celtics, but the bottom line is that a lot of the NBA(including the Celtics) has just become boring for me to watch.  I'd rather go watch a good HS game.  Sure the talent isn't there, but it's still basketball.  The passion is there and the kids just want to play.  You always see your occasion knucklehead arguing with the refs, but everybody on every team isn't a knucklehead in HS.
