I LOVE this team.  I am sure part of this is the adrenaline after that game, but I think this might be my favorite incarnation of this team since 2008.  I don't care if they are no longer a favorite (or even realistic contender) for the championship.  They have a ton of heart, and a ton of grit.  The vast majority of my life as a C's fan has been spent watching teams that don't go the extra mile to get the win, so I appreciate it when they do.

I'm right there with you.  With all the blow it up talk, I get the feeling that they are literally fighting for their Celtic lives every game.

This team may not always be an aesthetic masterpiece, but to me they couldn't be more beautiful.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Seriously, EVERY single game thats been televised here in Seattle they go on numerous stretches where they dont score.NUMEROUS, 10 minutes 5 points doesnt cut it in the NBA anymore, even BAD teams score more than this team and with all the weapons, somethings got to give or someones got to go. I can't stand to watch it, in fact it makes me ill to watch and I turn it off. Theres something horribly wrong with this team and if the only reason they are playing is because doc has them believing than so be it. He might have them fooled but theres something WAY off about this C's team. They arent any fun for me to watch anymore sadly and they've always been my team and have my 3 favorite players on it.

Who the heck are you?... I'm the only Celtic fan in Seattle.  It's a proven fact.

i've been in love with the Celtics since 1969, so don't question my loyalty ................i mostly have to agree with Shadowman.

it is very painful - i had to change channels tonite and just keep the running box score up on the computer - i would check it every 5 minutes or so, but i couldn't watch. having said that, i've had a bit of the Jerry West Syndrome since the 1987 Finals Game 4.

one thing that's important to note: this current Celtic team was built for defense and that's exactly how they won in '08 and after. losing Perk has damaged our defensive effectiveness significantly.

but this group has ALWAYS been a bit painful to watch on offense, even in '08. despite having two elite offensive talents, they don't get a lot of easy baskets and they really have to grind it in the half-court. as they have aged and lost some offensive firepower (Posey, House, Nate Nate, even Sheed when he was in the mood to play), the offense has just ground to a halt more and more often - and it's very painful to watch because we want them to win so badly, especially these guys who deserve a second title.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Are you talking about the Boston Celtics?!?

But seriously, while I still would have disagreed with some of this post, I could've understood it at the beginning of the season, but since January 18th we're 8-2, playing defense like we did in 07-08, and watching the resurgence of The Truth, and the emergence of standout young players like Brandon Bass, Avery Bradley, Wilcox, Moore, etc..

I personally find this team a blast to watch right now, and initially assumed this thread must've been started in December before I checked.

While this team had a rough start due to seven players on the injured list and lack of conditioning due to age, I honestly don't understand this view of them now.

But as Dark_Lord said, there's an easy solution, thanks to the wonders of technology and that sweet little "On/Off" button on the remote. ;)

I'm LOVIN' this team right now!

Go Celtics!

all teams are like this because of the lockout.
No, not really.

I am a Celtics fan.  I don't watch any other team.  I would rather watch the Celtics sucking than check out the Linsanity in New York.

  • Rondo = Good
I've only watched the team off and on this season.  The level of play has improved since the start of the season, but it's still frustrating.  Watching them now is a lot like watching the 2009-2010 team, only not quite as frustrating because I don't think they're playing that far below their potential.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
I only watch those taped games of the one we win. Ive never watched the Celtics lose a game in 30 years. I watch them win; I rwead about their loses; and Im a happy camper. Why should I bother about guys I dont know. I watch movies that will make me happy and I dont watch those that will stress me. Same thing. life is to short to worry about the unworriyable. What has PP, KG, Doc, Rondo done for me lately, that I should worry about their problems. I worry about them the same way I worry about Forrest Gump.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
