  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This guy was all the talk in free agency and I could never understand why.
He is a hard worker and a great team mate in the locker room. Coaches love him too.
But is this guy really worth 8.6 million for 11 points 1.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds a game (total PER of 10.87)
I've watched at least 10 Denver games this year, and I suppose 8.6 million isn't so bad for a solid role player but does anyone else feel this guy is completely overrated?
I mean his defense is what is famous for but he hasn't really affected Denvers terrible points allowed, I think they're the worst in the NBA in that category.

Is it just because he's the 3rd/4th option on offense behind Nene, Gallinari, Harrington? If so why does he average less than 2 assists per game as a starting guard?

He just reminds me of a rich man's Keith Bogans (by rich i mean faster, with a better jumpshot).
Is 8.6 million fair?

Would like Celtics bloggers opinions.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

He is a young James Posey type at SG.

He defends.

He hits open threes created by main focus of the offense.

He is not overrated.

He, like most good role players in the NBA, is overpayed.

Makes you appreciate how lucky we are to have Brandon Bass on our team for 4 million. Although Bass should command 8 million next contract.
To a lesser extent, Pietrus for the minimum too.

Makes you understand why they might be no more then 1 year rentals.

As much as they say they "love being in Boston", it all comes down to the new contracts next year.
