How bad was the 09 draft?

I know there are some players, Griffin, Curry, Evans, Rubio, etc...

The Hornets could possibly trade Chris Kaman to the Rockets for the #2, #8, and #11 picks in the 2009 draft.

Thabeet, Jordan Hill, and Terrance Williams.

Just thought that was interesting.  I live in Louisiana and I was at the Hornets/Hawks game Sunday.  At one time, the Hornets had a lineup of:

Aminu, Ayon, Landry, Summers, Vasquez.

Thats almost a D-leage lineup.  With eric Gordon out, they had almost no scoring.  I wonder if they will end up moving jack, Okafor, and Ariza at some point, although Jack is playing well for them.

"According to the website, talks have revolved around two of Houston’s young players who were top 10 picks in the 2009 draft, center Hasheem Thabeet and power forward Jordan Hill. Thabeet was the second overall pick that year by Memphis; Hill was the eighth overall choice by the Knicks.

The magazine also said second-year forward Patrick Patterson and third-year point guard Jonny Flynn were discussed, along with Terrence Williams, a small forward."

Hornets now taking Kaman off the block:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7538226/new-orleans-hornets-take-chris-kaman-trade-market-source-say

Quote
With the Hornets hoping to acquire draft picks or other young assets for Kaman, Houston showed the strongest interest in the 7-footer.

But sources said that interested teams -- Cleveland and Indiana were also among those that inquired -- balked at the asking price established by the league officials (Stu Jackson and Joel Litvin) who, along with NBA commissioner David Stern, essentially function as New Orleans' ownership committee until the team is sold.

So, perhaps a buyout later this month is still a possibility.

Would you guys do Rondo for Kaman and the TWolves pick that the Hornets have this year? I think i would only if the Celts could find another way to get a point guard. Maybe sign Aron Brooks in March when he's released from China?

Brooks/ Dooling
Allen/ Bradley
Pierce/ Pietrus/ Pavlovic
Garnett/ Bass
Kaman/ O'Neal/ Wilcox

I know they took Kaman off the block but i think it would be hard for the Hornets to turn down that deal.

Just a thought.

So, an All Star PG for Chris Kaman and a pick that is going to end up being at the back end of the lottery. Sounds awful.

Seriously. It would have to be NO's #1 pick. That's definitely not gonna happen. Plus, since Jack is playing so good for them right now they probably think of them as their PG going forward and would want to put talent around him.
