I purchased some cheap ones a few weeks ago, I liked using these ecigs so much I decided to upgrade. I just ordered some from Halo that are supposed to be great according to the reviews. Since I started using ecigs, I rarely smoke real cigarets, I went from a pack a day to 3-5 and should be done with it entirely in the next week or 2.

Ecigs are the greatest things since sliced bread in my book  :D The price has come down a lot in the last couple of years which is an added bonus.
I've researched these things and it seems that they are not bad for your health. With these, you get the best of both worlds, you get to enjoy smoking(the proper term is "vaping") without inhaling all the tar and other bad stuff from regular smokes.

For those that are unfamiliar with ecigs, it's not really smoking. What you inhale is water vapor with nicotine in it. The liquid that many manufacturers us in the filter(doesn't filter anything out, but it's the part where the filter would be on a normal cig) is made from USDA approved food additives that we consume in food everyday.

Anyone else try these?

So you don't end up smelling bad either? Sounds great. I don't smoke, but I support everyone's right to choose to consume nicotine if it can be done in such an unintrusive manner.

Is the exhaled cloud in the video essentially just water vapor?

Yeah, depending on the flavor you use, what you exhale is odorless too. They offer a lot of different kinds of flavor from regular(which is what I use)to some that taste fruity. The stronger flavored ones can have a hint of smell to it, but it smells like the taste and not second hand smoke from what I understand.

Any one who wants to quit should give this a try. If a guy like me who was hopelessly addicted can basically quit overnight by using these, anyone can.

To make a long story short, that's just another way to take nicotine. Substance abuse is substance abuse, I guess.

if it's not harmful to your health and it relieves stress then I don't see what's so bad about it ...

I don't see why it should be considered abuse anymore than social drinking is abuse. Sure, there is an addiction element, but many of us probably get headaches from not drinking coffee due to caffeine addiction. How many people abuse caffeine every morning to wake up?

If the health problems are drastically reduced, I don't see why using nicotine should have any more stigma than having wine with dinner or feeling compelled to drink coffee multiple times a day.

Black market maybe?

There are supposedly cleaner ways to smoke that too where it is burned differently. Don't know the details, but seems high maintenance compared to the e-cigs.

That's one of the reasons I posted this, I hope that some who were in my position give it a try.

If anyone has questions on it, feel free to ask here or pm me. I'm new to it, but I do have a grasp and resources to point to if I don't have the answer.

It's not just about the nic, there are other things to the habit. I know it maybe hard to understand for a nonsmoker, but there some like me, who enjoy the habit. Plus, you can buy liquid that has no nicotine in it. Of course the reaction would be "whats the point", but again, it goes to the whole habit, not just the chemical.

Not much different from gum chewing habits.

I hear things like this and I think about it from an investment standpoint.

The top tobacco companies are $100 billion companies (there's 7 that are over $1 billion total).

This e-cig thing is still new.  Maybe we can get in on the ground floor.  I guess the company that has patented this stuff is a penny stock out of Hong Kong with a market cap of only $100m, and shares selling for under 4 cents.

They could get bought out by a giant corporation (good for our investment), could rise all the way to the top themselves (great for our investment), or have other companies make imitations that step around their patent (bad for our investment).  Or you can try to get in on one of the several start ups producing them in the U.S.

Interesting to think about and research though from a investment standpoint, even if this never goes anywhere.

Without getting technical, just about anything that can be burned and smoked can instead be "cooked" via superheated air to create vapor that produces a similar effect without the health issues associated with smoke.  There's no burning involved, and very little maintenance.

Congrats to AG for switching to the e-cigs - I don't smoke cigarettes but my brother is a heavy smoker; I've thought about picking some up for him as a Christmas present, but that could be taken the wrong way I suppose.  Might just send some info his way instead.

Dragonite doesn't have much going for it
except the possibility that a large ruling
could go their way. If you want to speculate
on that, in the US it can be bought under the
ticker symbol DGTLF. DGTLF is, however, on the
"grey sheets" (it's an American Depository Receipt)
and rarely trades. You would have to call your broker
and they may be able to execute a trade for you.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=17093
But, don't misinterpret lack of volume on DGTLF as having any significance. The shares of DGTLF will automatically adjust
on the bid/ask pursuant to the activity of
the shares as traded on Hong Kong.

Another e-cig co on a higher exchange here is
Vapor Corp, VPCO, which is around .15/sh.

I've been vaping for 5 months now, and I like it more
than I thought I would. I am not trying to quit cigarettes,
but I am smoking less than half as much, down to about
10 per day, just because I enjoy vaping. It satisfies the
craving. I come to crave the e-cig. I use a Joye E-Go
650 MAH, and have tried various cartomizers.

Back to stocks, anyone interested in my top pick and
holding, check out CLNH.
