  • Rondo = Good
i think they can do better.  plus, i think for this trade to really put us in contention we'd have to keep Bass.

I would pull that trade trigger.

Cavs can do much better.  I'd keep AV with Irving -- that's looking like a good starting point for that franchise -- or it could be just that the C's make all opposing players look good  :P

Scott said they would have to be overwhelmed to even consider trading Varejao...And this offer certainly isn't overwhelming.

We gotta keep Rondo and Bass.  I would only trade em to get DH .

Other than PP , I'd trade everybody else to get him.

His energy is exactly what his team needs.  Inside presence.

Even old JO could stay in shape and healthy playing behind him .

He is not a franchise player , but like Dennis Rodman , a very important player for a Contender.

Get him if you can.

Bass is not in the same category as Rondo.

As of right now, he is a one year rental.  His play is going to likely net him a bigger contract then the Celtics should pay.

If you can turn him into a better player who is in the same playing window as Rondo, do it.

sadly you're right about Bass.  I'm afraid C's won't be able to afford him after this season.  I'd love it if we could keep him at the right price.  Bass, Green and Pietrus would be a really terrific trio to bring off the bench next year.  3 guys that could play with the starters and the team shouldn't (emphasize shouldn't) miss a beat.

I'm all for it if the Cavs decide to move him for a draft pick and/or prospect.

Overwhelmed to even consider trading him? Well then I guess he won't be traded. This trade its giving up plenty for him. No one is going to trade high quality players or good draft picks for him.

He is a role player, albeit a very good one and he makes a lot of money

I'm in!  The Celtics need a rebounder badly.  My only question is would there be a drop off in defense from JO to Varejao?  I know Varejao is a better rebounder, but JO has been playing some great defense, he's just not a good rebounder.  Can we sustain the same great defense with Varejao?

Forget Varejao, and go get Demarcus Cousins.  He's young, rebounds really well, and plays down low for the most part.  His upside is higher than Varejao's and he could be an absolute beast playing next to KG.  I also think he needs someone like KG around him right now to keep him honest.

Rondo, Dooling, and the Clippers pick for Cousins, Garcia, and Fredette.  It works on trade checker.

Same question regarding Cousins.  Is he a good defender and will we have a drop off in defense with him as opposed to JO?
