Celtics Need to let go of this season and next

This season and at least next season (maybe more) is rebuilding time. People need to stop thinking the C's will be a contender every year.

The Celtics should not tie their hands with "second, third tier FA players" this off season.

Build through the draft and pick the right moment/right player when the time is right not just because they have the money.

I agree.  Pierce still has game... call up Indiana and lets make a deal.

Pierce for a 1st rounder (they have 14 mil in cap space) or Paul George.


Then trade Ray to Chicago for expiring contracts + a draft pick... or Utah for their trade exception and a draft pick

Hang onto KG if he's cool with playing on a crap team... he'll be a nice mentor to tie together the two eras.

Head into next season with Rondo, Four 1st round picks and 34-38 mil in cap space.

Then allow him to retire early or buy him out so he can win a title on the Lakers/Heat. 

Doesn't matter at that point.  This team is a good 5 years away minimum from contending again.   10+ years if we trade Pierce for a stopgap like Rudy Gay or Danny Granger to extend our mediocrity.

No, this is ridiculous. I really HATE the idea of spending a season (not to mention seasons) with the goal of winning a championship being secondary. If that's what you're looking for, I'd become a fan of the Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards or Charlotte Bobcats. REBUILDING = NOT IN MY CITY.
