We need people outside the clerics organization to make public comments about how great the celtics organization is for players that want to win.

You mean like Warrior class players and rogue class players?

If we can some how keep KG and sign Dwight Howard, our defense will be tremendous for  half a decade.

If we could add another wing defender (Jeff Green, Pietrus or trade for Tony Allen?) to pair with Rondo/Bradley...man....

KG is going to play and deliver tremendous defense for another half decade?

Yeah, KG's not playing another 5 years.  But another two or three?  With the greatest defensive center in the league playing alongside him?  That's possible and it would be scary.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Him saying this kind of screws us up. Now Danny must go through the season trying to preserve the necessary cap space in order to take a shot at Dwight. What this means is Ray and KG stay put and you either trade Pierce (Granger, Smith, Gay, etc)or hope that he wants to play with Rondo and the old 3, which is highly unlikely. Basically we have our hands this might tie up or hands in the hopes that Dwight isn't traded and would choose to come here.

BTW, what's the max that teams other than the Magic can offer Howard?

“My thing is I want to win. It’s not something like I’m doing this for money. I win. I want to do it my way.

What does that mean, Dwight? Are you looking for GM duties as well?

No thanks.

If you're a free agent, isnt it your job to listen to any offers that come through? i mean, you'd be silly not to. I am not going to get very excited over this unfortunately. still an uber pipe dream.

I also share this opposition view that Dwight Howard is a clown and would be the wrong person in which to invest a maximum contract.  I fear a Carmelo Athony affect, fool's gold.

The truth is that the teams in Orlando have been flawed but not all that bad.  It will always be that the problem is the teams around him, not him.

And my favorite red flag of a quote was something like "I want to be in a city that allows me to pursue my entertainment interests" or something along those lines.  I have a suggestion, why don't you focus on basketball for the next 10 years and worry about your other interests for 30 years after that.

Clown.

If the Rondo-Pierce tandem, and to a lesser degree (since they're free agents/potential retirement candidates at the end of the year) Ray and KG, can make some noise in the playoffs, that would definitely help our cause with Dwight.

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari

  • Let's Go Celtics!
If we're really serious about D12, we NEED to do a trade to bring in another young piece to pair with Rondo. I'm sorry, but I don't think Rondo + an aging/declining Pierce is as strong a selling point as some think it will be.

Maybe trade Ray + a 1st and a 2nd to Minny for Beasley + Ridnour and amnesty Luke in the offseason or buy him out before the talent. Or, as I've said a million times, trade for Mayo.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I'd rather spend our cap space on a couple of orc fighters to round out the frontcourt. Strong, mean, and they smell really bad.

Anything left over, find a halfling thief to back up Rondo. Earl Boykins, for instance.

Doc would be the perfect coach for him. The dynamic of doc and danny would be great for dwight i dont feel like van gundy and otis smith instill confidence in dwight. You also add to the fact that Rondo is a young allstar with a ring and pierce is a strong veteran presence dwight should fall into place. Carmelo is foo's gold only because he cant create for his teammates/make them better. Howard will never have to create anything with rondo around and he will make his teammates better do to his ability to clog the middle of D and quickly outlet defensive rebounds.

Would be so happy to sign Dwight any one in hear that wouldn't want him is nuts. If we could bring KG back for low money then Dwight would have no choice but to listen to him. I think Dwight is would kill to be on a team with the swagger that Boston has. Also we have a lot of cap to play with next season then after that paul is off the books and then again more money to play with at which point our main blocks of Dwight and rondo are 29 and 27
