KG's elite defense and versatility makes him arguably the top PF of all time.

Throw in his excellent rebounding and 20 points scoring...its just icing on the cake.

Throughout his career, KG's never had the benefit of playing with a top notch head coach, nor an all-star type PG.
Yeah I think its Duncan/Malone/KG for the top 3 PF spots. All three were MVPs (and TD/KG should have won more but for media silliness) at their peaks and have had long careers as elite players.

As for not playing with an all-star PG, that's not really true. Rondo has really helped extend KGs career offensively. And before his injury in 09 we all saw what Rondo was starting to do for KG. We'd get 2 or 3 free dunks a game out of lobs when people over played him.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
KG will be known as a 2nd tier star from that era (outside of Boston and Sota, that is).
Agreed, he'll be remembered along the lines of David Robinson and Charles Barkley.

Which is a shame, he's been of Tim Duncan's caliber once he hit his prime but on crappy teams for the first 12 years in Minnesota. But you could say the same about Barkley as well.

I think Barkley and Malone are both considered as peers, and rightly so, no?

We'll have a better idea of where this team is after this weekend.  I think it's coming together but my job title isn't "Head Scout" or "General Manager".

I love the OP's enthusiasm for Minnesota but I don't think KG would get a ring there, at least not next year.  I also don't think he has a desire to return there yet and Kahn would somehow find a way to alienate him even if he showed up a vet minimum contract printed and stapled to his Minnesota jersey. Plus he'd make a terrible point guard so there is not way Minnesota uses their free agent money on him.
