Ken Berger: The Nuggets and Danilo Gallinari have agreed to a four-year, $42 million extension, source tells @CBSSports. Twitter

I have always liked his game. He doesn't mind playing D. Exceptional shooter. And at 23 he still has upside. Is 10.5 mill a year a good deal for Gallo?

Thoughts?

That's absolutely a good deal.  In fact, I'd say they got a bargain.

A longer, tougher Rashard Lewis in his prime for half the money?  Cool.

I think he will just be entering his prime when this deal ends. I agree. I think this is a very good deal.

A five year $40 million deal would have been fair. Four years makes it pricey.

They should have waited until the summer. Nothing to lose with those figures.

Not sure about that. Brooklyn's going to have a lot of money to trhow out there, I could've easily seen them throwing a higher number.

exactly what I thought when I saw this. A better and younger version of Turk with potential and a solid contract. Denver is doing well
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I think they slightly overpaid him, but he could develop into a bargain considering his age.

So, with Gallo and Afflalo locked up for the next 4-5 years, Wilson Chandler has to be readily available on the market, right? They already have 85 million locked up on the wings in those two guys over the next 4-5 years, there is no way they are going to pay Chandler his market rate. Not only does that mean the Nuggets won't match any reasonable offer sheet this spring/summer, but it also means he is extremely available in a S&T for a playoff piece.

If we are stumbling in March, I would expect Danny to go hard after a nice trade for Chandler, he'd be a nice athletic wing for us moving forward.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

You need to commit money to your franchise player before you commit money to your role players. I think we need another core component before he starts making deals like this.

I think it's good value, and I like it better than the Arron Afflalo deal.  The only concern I have from Denver's end is what their ceiling is going to be as they hand out large contracts to their current core.

Yeah, on its own the contract makes a fair amount of sense. But they could easily end up with just a bunch of second tier players and role players signed long term at this rate.

Yeah, Wilson is a guy who will get paid Travis Outlaw type money (or better) this summer, and we don't want to use a bunch of our cap space on a role player like that.
