I think you have to rebuild, but these players can be two very important players for the team yet.

Ray Allen is playing great, with very good percentages, I think he is a decal of Reggie Miller, and may be playing to 39, and Reggie.

They are special players, Ray Allen is still now the best shooter in the league, do not forget this.

KG is true that the season has not started at a high level, which is normal with a long loockout this is normal and is happening to more players in the league veterans.

KG is still the leader of the Celtics, the spirit and continues to play with a great passion, when the season progresses, he will take the form, as well as PP.

If they want to resign for less money, Ainge should renew them and then they retire in Boston. I'd hate to see Ray, KG or PP with another jersey, this should not happen.

I do not know if KG will retire, he can still play at least one year at a high level, making a full training camp, this is the reason why Garnett is low in shape.

Vs Wizards and Magic he has played better.

I still think Ainge should bring players to help the Big Three this summer:

- JaVale McGee
- Jamison
- Kaman
- A. Randolph
- And more...

My dream is Big Al Jefferson, but I do not know, I do not know if Utah wants to trade him now, but when left as a free agent.

In summer there will be money, JO contracts, Sheed and Shaq, and if Ray and KG resign for less money, Celtics still have enough money to bring good players and make a great roster.

 Karl Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Reggie...

Perhaps Did these players not give good results in spite of his age? the same thing happens with Ray and KG.

I don't mean to offend you, but I have no idea what your point is. I think it's common knowledge that if KG and Allen re-sign they will do so for far less than they're currently making.

What did you mean by this?

I want to say that in summers the Celtics Sheed will liberate salarial space, with the contracts of JO, Sheed...

I agree with Ray, but no not at all on KG.  I dont think Kevin will want to continue hobbling around the court after this season anyway

If either keep playing after this season, they should both go play for teams that have a shot at winning something of significance.

None of our big three need to debase themselves by becoming desperate ring chasers in the twilights of their careers.

Gary Payton is considered a great NBA player, but did his membership on the Heat championship team really do anything to elevate the legacy of his career?

Offer than one-year contracts for $6-7 million (somewhere more than the MLE and less than $10 million, at least) and ask them if they would rather go somewhere else for more money.  If so, sign-and-trade city, baby.

A ring is a ring though.  Ten years from now people will see he won a ring and not recall the circumstances of such.   Coat tail riding is something many NBA greats like Karl Malone have tried.

I mean, from their perspective, of course they should.  But as a Celtics fan, I really want Ray back on this roster next year.

I think if they resign, then they would want to start. I don't know if that is good for this team.

I don't know about that.  I do know that I had to look it up on Basketball Reference to make sure that Gary Payton was actually a member of that Heat team that won the finals.

Coat tail riding may be common among aging stars, but I can think of few, if any, instances where it is graceful and in good taste.

Their respective legacies would be better off if they retired as Celtics.
