I was just wondering what all you celtics fans think is gonna happen after this year. And then seriously, i see so many weird trades on the window which are just so unreal.

For me i personally hope we are able to finish 3-6 in the east, i think it's realistic. As long as we avoid playing Chigago/Miami in the first round i'm happy and i think we got a good shot at making it atleast to the semi finals in the east. Because man this team still can do loads of damage in the playoffs when we got days off in matches and everybody can load up thereself, ofcourse this is only gonna happen if we stay healthy! We can't beat a NBA team with 30 points every night without Rondo & Allen, we need them.
Next to that, i hear some people who wanna blow up this season and try to get some good lotery picks, or maybe trade stars for first round picks.
In this topic i don't wanna talk about trades cus it's just not sure and you can't expect anything to happen for real.
So if we play hard and get in a proper first round match up, im pretty sure no NBA team in the east wanna play us. Now in the regular season it seems we are worse then philly/indy/magic/hawks but im confident we can beat all those teams in the playoffs.

Then next year, we got the good draft, we got the Clippers first round pick right, which will be a pick arround number 20 or some. Maybe we can upgrade that pick or our own pick a bit to get a top5 or even top10 pick.
Contracts of Garnett and Allen comes off, as much as i love this players a era comes to and end, is there anything possible the celtics will resign one of them for like less money? If KG wanna play for us for like 1y 5-8m he reaches untoucheble hero status for me! I don't know what he is gonna do, retire? I got some strange feeling maybe he will end up with Chaunsey Billups and the Clippers cus they need Defense and experience and got some money to spend.
Then we got Pierce for 2 more year right.

And which big free agents can we sign this summer, we have space to land 1 or 2 max contracts next year. Is it realistic to think about... about who? Howard is not coming, D-Will not either cus he will end up in Dallas and if we can get him we need to trade Rondo and i don't wanna do that. Who's in the market aswell and who can we possibly get???

Then Jeff Green, so unlucky this season and im so happy if this kid can return to the game. I'm really high on him and i think he is the same as James Harden, a possible allstar. But he becomes a free againt aswell and Boston voided his contract? What does this exactly mean? i know Green loves the place here and wanna do something for us but do we got any insurance he is gonna resign with the Celtics for some years?

I made this topic just to see and look what other Celtic fans have in their mind so show me what you think is gonna happen with this lovely franchise.
Peace out and let's get that ring in superbowl 46!
Celtics for lifeeee!

Celtics should resign to Ray and KG for the next season, they still can to play at high level.

And then find good players to help the Big Three.

So we can have an another even more mediocre borderline-playoff season ending in an early round defeat?

C'S have the ability to have a loaded bench with Bass, Green, Peitrus if they can resign them.  The bench gets better if they resign Ray and KG to reasonable deals
-- specifically to come off the bench.  I wouldn't want to resign them for expensive contracts or to start.  If they're still starting, we're not going anywhere.  also, Bass and Pietrus can cover back up PF and SG so I'm not worried about losing KG and Ray.

The big key is for Danny to find starting-quality players at the SG, PF and C positions.  even if its for a 1-year rental until the next FA market which is loaded with better talent, we've got to get younger and better at those positions.

As to how much better could be next year, I think a good part of that will be how the young players come through next year.  Will Bradley, Moore, JJJ and Steimsma get enough PT to develop and if they get that time, actually become rotation-worthy players.  Add in 2 first-rounders from the next draft and possibly the C's second rounder (danny does a good job of finding gems in that round), the C's could be loaded with some talented youth that will either be worth keeping as solid players or packaging in trades for better vets.

Brandon Bass has a 4 million player option next year.  Most people seem to think he'll get more money on the open market... so he's gone.

That leaves us with 25 mil in cap space.

So lets say KG takes a massive paycut and signs for 8 mil...

Now we have 17 mil.

Lets say Ray takes a paycut and signs for 8 mil...

Now we have 9 mil.

Offer Jeff Green 5 mil.  Offer Pietrus 4 mil.

We're all tapped out.  Fill the rest of the team with min level contracts.

Too bad... we still don't have a starting center.  Would have been nice to have money to offer Chris Kaman.  Depending on if you like Jeff Green or Brandon Bass more, our team next year will have likely taken a step backwards.

So come 2012-13 season when we have Rondo, Pierce, Bradley, and JJJ and picks for around $33 mil. ($25 mil. left in cap) how does this get filled. Even assuming a KG or ray return for less then what? With love and howard basically off the table and little shot of an opting out Dwill how do will fill the roster?

The remaining FA class looks slim considering other teams that will also have cap space to use. We won't even have anything to trade with so how do fill out this roster? I'm just a little cnfused/anxious/worried
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I don't think we will be resigning KG or allen for anything more than the vet minimum. Ainge may not be ruthless enough to trade them this season but he is ruthless enough to risk insulting these guys with low ball offers. he knows we must start the rebuild and bringing back the old guard (no matter how the season ends) will just postpone the inevitable.

I would not be surprised if pierce is traded this off season or next.

KG won't get 8 million. The way he is playing he deserves maybe 5 or 6 million on a 1 year deal. Personally, I think that KG will retire. Ray might get 8 million on a one year deal. The only other team that will want either are contenders and probably won't have the cap space.

Most importantly, the C's need to decide whether they are blowing up or continuing to run for the title. Right now looks like management should blow it up but we will see closer to the deadline how they are doing. If they have a 1st round exit as a 6 seed this season, they should NOT resign Ray and KG unless for very big paycuts(5 or 6 for Ray and 4 for KG). If they can get more at a contender sure, go for it. They deserve it.

I just dont see how there can be all this talk about how the celtics have all this money to spend if it just gets eaten up like what you just wrote. I think Danny is gonna be thrifty. I think hes gonna resign Jeff Green and of course go after Dwight, but if he cant get Dwight maybe Omer Asik.

What happens if we get blown out tomerrow? Do we regress to our "get rid of everybody" mode? Seems to be our favorite passtime.

I really think the C's are going to turn it around. People act like their poor start is some sort of massive decline, but I don't buy it.

First of all, they've done this before in the exact same way for portions of the past two seasons. If they could flip the switch then, they certainly have a shot to do it now.

Second, there are reasons that they're playing poorly; mainly, it's being out of shape. That has nothing to do with age. It has to do with PP playing poker thr entire lockout instead of staying in shape.

Assuming they can get healthy and in shape (and they seem to be headin that way now), I see no reason they still can't win the Atlantic and make one last playoff run.  They're 4 1/2 games behind Philly now, but Philly is coming up on a very tough stretch now. If the C's can build on the last two games, they could be within a game or two of the Sixers by the end of next week.

They're still a long shot to win it all, but in this crazy season I think it's worth holding it all together for one final stand.

What other free agents are there next season next to Howard and Deron Williams? Anybody interesting we can try to sigh with our space left. Eric Gordon? Don't wanna pay loads for a injuryguy

I like KG and Ray back for both arround 4-7m If you assume someone like Kwahe Brown gets 7/8m for 1year! Hope they resign both Bass and Green. We need them for our bench
