Trade idea: Pierce for Deng/Asik (not rumor)

Bulls get: Pierce
Celtics get: Deng, Asik

Why for Bulls: Deng is out with wrist ligament injury.  Pierce is an upgrade short term on their quest for a title and gives them a proven playoff killer on about the same contract as Deng.

Why for C’s: Get a younger replacement for Pierce in Deng at the same price about.  They also add a good young big.  With Deng out for a while Celtics end up with a better pick in a loaded draft in addition to the LAC pick.  Work to build around Rondo, Deng, Asik, max FA, 2 picks. 

Why not for the C’s: trading the heart and soul of the franchise.

Don't even know if I like it but thought it was interesting.

With JGreen waiting in the wings, I'd say we're all set.

Rondo
Pierce
Green
Bass or hopefully someone better
The Big FA Signing

Deng just doesn't fit.

There's another thread about this - I don't think it makes much sense for Chicago.
