I know they aren't good shooters, but I think if you put them in a lineup of

PG: Rondo
SG: Bradley
SF: PP or Ray
PF: Bass
 C: KG

would create nightmares for opposing team's . Bass and KG would pull opposing bigs out of the paint allowing Rondo and Bradley to drive the lane and score or kick it to Bass,KG,Ray or Paul (all knock down shooters). That is actually one of Bradley's biggest assets he is so quick and can definitely get into the paint if we spread the floor , same with Rondo obviously .

On defense Bradley and Rondo could pick up full court pressure in spurts disrupting the other teams offense and having them start the offense from half court with 14 secs on the shot clock .  We saw KG is certainly capable of playing center for 10-15 mins a night at least against D12 tonight.

and with Bass, Bradley and Rondo we could get out and RUN RUN RUN after they create turnovers with their ballhawking defense. KG and PP/Ray the trailer on the fast break.

Thoughts?

Could work in specific situations, but I think a good percentage of shooting gaurds could shoot right over Bradley, or get him in foul trouble. His pressure works best on the ball.

I don't think you need to keep Bradley as a starter when Rondo returns, but give him a steady, regular role. Clearly he needs confidence and regular minutes right now to be effective, and he's not the kind of kid who's gonna think he should start over Rondo or Ray.

Give him 15MPG and let him pick up full-court on a regular basis. Tell him he's the secret weapon on a team that prides itself on defense. Over time, he'll figure out his niche on offense, and when he does he'll be a more complete player.

So nice to see this as even a possibility.

what i think will be nice is that rondo can know that he has a backup who won't kill team, bradley could help if he plays like he did last night
then rondo can play at a harder pace and expect a breather, no let up for opposing pg

You folks realize Bradley was only 2-7 from the field?  He did well last night though and plays superb defense.   But he is largely a situtional player for spot defense IMHO who is a worse shooter than Rondo.  Both he and Rondo are poor shooters.  What havoc they play on defense would be nuetralized by other teams playing zone on defense and daring them to shoot.

after last night game and folks still tryin to put rondo in the mix...

rondo is not a factor if we want to get better

paul on the floor with the bench is when paul plays his best

avery and paul on the floor is key

I love watching Bradley play defense.  He still needs to find his niche on offense but his defense is game changing as we have seen a couple of times recently.

I disagree with a lot of this, but this stretch has made me wonder if Pierce is still a better player than Rondo.

They are both quick enough to make the zone collapse when they slash, opening up for our spot up shooters. Rondo has always made the zone defense look awful, because he can make plays from anywhere on the floor.

Quite impressed that Bradley could put full court pressure on the ball for so many minutes last night.  It was completely disruptive, and the longer it persisted, the more disruptive it became.

Won't see the same effect in spot minutes.  He'll probably be like TA:  with minutes he can make an impact.

EDIT:  And all the criticisms of the Rondo/Bradley backcourt are exactly the same ones as the Rondo/TA backcourt.  In theory, it shouldn't work.  In reality, it brings out the energy, swaggah, and WINS!

  • Rondo = Good
A Rondo / Bradley backcourt would also break the league record for front-rimmed shots and airballs.

  • Strength from Within
Start: Rondo, Ray, Pietrus/Quis
Off the Bench: Bradley, Dooling and PP

Quis also played well so even though he is not a shooter his PG ability could also pair well with Bradley.

With the exception of PG and Center (two critical positions) this team is very deep.

as disruptive as he and Rondo could be on the floor together, their inability to shoot from outside will kill the offense.
