I just thought he needed his own thread tonight after his performance.

How many people were thinking, "no Ray, well at least we got Pietrus.  What?!! No Pietrus, that means we are starting . . . oh no ... Sasha!!"

Well done, Sasha.  Great energy tonight after getting buried on the bench behind a horrifically slumping Marquis Daniels.  I really don't even care if he gets consistent minutes when everyone's healthy.  It's nice to know that you have a guy on the back end of the bench that you can rely on when needed.

Big ups to Sasha Pavlovic.

  • Rondo = Good
Sasha always hustles and seems to do the most he can with his limited ability.  Kinda reminds me of Scal, although he's way more physically gifted than Scal (but not as smart a bball player).

Although he's a better shooter than Marquis, I wouldn't actually say that his offense is better.  As poorly as Marquis has played this year, he's an extremely smart and skilled player on both ends of the floor.

The thing I like about Sasha is his defensive intensity.

agreed, marquis shots haven't been falling but he adds so much to the team, i believe he had 5 assists last night and that is in the flow of the game
sasha blocking shots or giving a hard foul to dwight instead of a dunk...loved it!  wish his shot (and daniels) would start falling regularly

Sasha played well enough last night.  He needs to chuck less threes but he attacked the basket well enough.

There is something to be said for having a guy who gives effort on defense at the 2. Ray kills us night after night with his lack of effort on D/Boards.

I loved that play too.

I think, though, if I remember correctly, that someone else had fouled Howard on the gather and Dwight was about to finish and Sasha elevated and stopped a slam!!!

Love to see that kind of play continue.

he should be playing before Daniels.

The 2nd unit needs someone to run the offense, and that needs to be Daniels.  No one else has the skill set.

Bradley/Moore have shown they are incapable of doing anything besides bringing the ball across half court and then looking for someone else so they dont have to touch it anymore.

The Avery/Sasha back court set the tone for the game game early with energy and tenacity that remained on for the duration of the game.  Avery's initial drive to the basket and Sasha not conceding easy dunks to Dwight were huge for the team, it also put it in Dwight's head that it wouldn't be easy for him that night.

I honestly wouldn't be averse to starting Sasha at the 2 moving forward.  Play his minutes similar to KG's, give him four or five quick minutes to start then throw Ray in.  His Defensive intensity and general savvy on the court are needed for us, especially in the first quarter.

I hope Doc soon realizes our poor starts are mainly a result of a lack of youth and defensive ability/intensity of our starters, and starts Sasha.

Really glad to see him play well.

Yeah, I'd say the combined difference for the defense was three factors:

1) AB out there
2) Ray not out there
3) Sasha playing well

Great game last night by Sasha. However, let's be real here. Someone wants to start him at the 2 guard? He is a 10th - 12th player on the bench who should see occasional minutes. Really occasional. If he is playing more than that, your team is likely in trouble. Again, tremendous effort last night, and that is what you hope to get from an end of the bench guy who has several years experience. But let's keep things in perspective.
