Ok, Now I know that this 1st trade idea I am going to get killed for and prob. wont get done because of the teams involved but I think this is a win win for both teams.  I think it makes basketball sence but would hate to see it.

1st trade : P.Pierce to LA Lakers for P.Gasol.

2nd trade : O'Neal to Det. for Prince.

Now I know this really doesnt help for the future but I think a lineup of Rondo, Allen, Prince, Garnett, and Gasol has better chance of winning then what have now.

I know... I hate looking at the 1st trade but I do like the final product and its chances for this year.

The 2nd trade would never happen. Detroit could have let Prince walk this season, but made it a point to bring him back on a multiyear deal, mostly to appease the fanbase, I think.

They wouldn't turn around and dump him for an expiring.

I agree that those deals would result in a good-looking starting five, though.

I did a search SF of some below .500 teams with a contract similar to O'Neals.  my 1st choice was S.Jackson but Milwaukee holding the 7th seed I don't think the Bucks do that.  I went with prince because of Detriots record and cap space for rebuilding may be what they would like to get instead of Princes contract for the next 3 years.

Right now, Tayshaun is Detroit's Paul Pierce. He is their captain and the soul of the franchise, for better or worse.

Dumars and Prince both want him to retire as a Piston.
