I watch way more College ball than Pros.

Just a few minor nitpicks about the Original posters comments.

First off Cody Zeller is not coming out and he is not a true center.  He is Rasheed Wallace.  Big, plays good D v. Bigs but is a face up shooter.  While he was being recruited by UNC, he stated he will most likely stay for 3 years, he was also quoted as wanted to rebuild Indiana as a primary goal for choosing to stay at home.  I highly doubt he comes out after only 1 year.  Both his brothers stayed all 4 years so its unlikely both Zellers will be in the draft this season.

Austin Rivers is not coming out, he can really only do one thing consistently, and that is shoot.  I highly doubt Rivers is in this years draft.  Wait till UNC plays Duke and Kendall Marshall lights him up for 15 assists bc he cannot stay in front of PGs.

I also would not count on Harrison Barnes either.  He is a different kid and wants to get both his undergrad and MBA while at UNC.  He has also not shown up a few times this season and I think he needs more time.  But that is a guess from watching him.

The real steal in the draft is John Henson (UNC), Lamb (UConn) and Michael Kidd Gilcrist.  Both have a very high up side and are just starting to understand the game.

Further, there are always 2 or 3 guys who become big names in the draft bc of their tournament runs.

Give me ThOmas Robinson. Athletic, has size an compare to most big men in the draft other than Sullinger, he has good post moves an footwork in the paint. Defense is a little suspect but there's effort.

I agree. I think he is the best player we can get with our range being just out of the lottery (hopefully). Dude is athletic and one of the best REBOUNDERS in the draft.

And I do NOT want Tyler Zeller. I watch most of the UNC games and he is not tough at all. He gets pushed off the block by smaller players and constantly is blocked from behind when under the basket. And although I haven't checked the numbers, he is a poor rebounder for being a mobile 7 footer. Just my opinion from watching him for 4 years.

Zeller is tough and strong

He (Tyler) is neither but I would defenetly take him in the 15-20s range. He is a 7' who can run the court and has good hands. He will be a good fringe starter for years in the NBA.

I think Austin Rivers will absolutly be a great pro. He will not be a PG but will be able to play the SG role and be a primary scorer on a good team.

I think Henson will have a Marcus Camby type career

No way Camby is an all time great rebounder, Henson will be a good pro but not that good.

why hasn't anyone mentioned Fab Melo. By no means is he a star, but his game is very similar to tyson chandler and he is a 7 footer

Admittedly, I'm also a Marquette alum with season tickets, so I may be a bit biased here, but the Eagles have a senior graduating this year named Darius Johnson-Odom. He's kind of a player in the Ben Gordon mode: a little shorter than ideal, but a quality shooter, a good passer, not afraid to go to the rim, and he draws a lot of fouls. I'm not saying he's a top-10 pick or anything, but if we could get him with a second-round pick I think he'd be a great asset to have off of our bench.

There may be better athletes and whatnot in this draft, but IMHO "Oscar" Meyers Leonard is the most well-rounded.

I'll take a 7'1", long, 245 pound, nice mid-range, very good passing, decent postgame offense and defense - Big Man any day.

He can easily pack on 15-20 more pounds..look at our own JJ he looks about 15 pounds heavier than when he was first drafted.

But yeah I'd be happy with Mr. Leonard if we can't move up in the draft.

I think he ends up in the top 10, so unless Boston falters I don't think they can get him.  This lottery is so stacked and even the second half the draft should be good, of course that is only if people actually leave early which is far from a given.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Description of him sounds like Spencer Hawes.

Would that be a good comparison for Myers Leonard?

You mean the C from PHI, Who?

If so, that is correct - he does remind me of Spencer Hawes.

After watching clips of him, what stood out the most for me was how well-rounded he is to be in college...he doesn't seem like a big stiff to me at all.

Seems very agile on his feet - even to the point that if he put on 15-20 more pounds he'd still be effective.

Man..I just can't help imagining this guy in Green..KG up top, Meyers down low...KG cutting to the basket with Meyers dishing him a sweet pass...or, passing out to Ray or Paul lurking at the 3-pt line:

He's enough of an offensive threat to demand attention, too.

On some portions of clip he doesn't seem that strong, but that's nothing that a little working out with Doc and Co won't cure.

IMHO, he seems Starter-Ready. I hope he lasts......

I am a huge fan of Jeremy Lamb from UCONN. Gonna cost to get him but I don't know where his flaws are. He is a little small at 185 but his defense is great and he has a 7'4 wingspan.

However, he won't be in our range as of now. That being said here are my next picks.

Terrance Jones- versatile and has good size and athleticism. He can score in a variety of ways. Reminds me a lot of Al Harrington.

Doron Lamb- can score, period. Good efficiency but is stuck between positions.

Tyler Zeller- 7 feet tall and a hustler. He is a better scorer than defwender and needs to get stronger but if we can get him later in the 1st I will be very happy. He would be a good 3rd big man off the bench.

Fab Melo- good size and like someone previously stated he is kinda like Tyson Chandler.

Marquis Teague- probably gonna be about the same quality as Jeff Teague(in my opinion)

2nd rounders- Draymond Green, Herb Pope, Jordan Taylor, Robbie Hummel(really late)

Like Jeremy Lamb, but if we can we will be better with Brad Beal. He looks more physically equipped and a much better defender, but an inch shorter.

Who I really want is Thomas Robinson. The guy is a post threat, something we don't have after KG injured his knee a couple of years ago. It'll be great to have him, since low post offense players are getting fewer in the NBA. A banger and relentless on the boards.

Totally agree with the other picks though but might I add Mason Plumlee. Kid is athletic and a determined rebounder. Can do some post moves as well and not afraid to get really physical, and can get up there.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.

SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I'm a bigger fan of Lamb but I might be biased since I am a little bit of a UCONN fan.  ;D

Plumlee just lacks too much strength to defend the post in my opinion.

Strength is one of the easiest things to build.   Leaping and athletic ability are not easy to build.  Anyone can bench a couple of hundred of pounds with some work.

Not everyone can do this with hard work.

If he is there we should take him.   We can get him strong.

I think our two picks need to be Austin Rivers and Patrick Young, although both could see their stock rise through the tournament.

A guy that has been slipping in most mocks that should absolutely be picked if he slips to us is Terrence Jones. He has slipped because his most accurate comp is Antoine (potentially minus the gambling problem and weight fluctuations).
