So tired of hearing from everyone that this team will get it together and saying we need to get off the ledge.   Where are you guys now.  Time to admit that this team isn't very good...

I started seeing signs of the C's team being "Ain't What It Used To Be" after they started 0-3. Even though we were without Pierce in those 3 games, the C's of the last 4 years would've won at least 1 of those games, if not 2.

I was also wondering that myself this evening.

Either the team starts playing better, or there will be some trades made to make it better.

Celtics only need to win the division to make the playoffs.

Calling out people for believing in the team won't score you many points around here.

It doesn't score you points either when people dismiss others legitimate concerns from their observations that this team isn't going to be elite this year..  I'm 1000% certain the people who think it is time for some changes care just as much about this team as those that want to keep it together until the end of the season.  Having been a Celtic fan since the early eighties I for one have no desire to watch aging veterans on a rapid decline.

Certainly doesn't mean we don't care about the team.

Been watching LAC and Minn tonight.  They are a pleasure to watch play, just enjoy watching great players play even if it's not my team. Its like the Kentucky Derby . Great stuff

Comparing them to Celtics and Suns game tonight ....both teams are total   ::)rubbish

and they earn millions for what ..... a joke

Sorry, what was I dismissing? I'm reacting to a post whose tone I found confrontational and baiting. There was nothing beyond "Where are you now?"

Not saying you were specifically.  I was talking about the several people who were dismissive to those of us who expressed a deep concern about the team as if we were totally overreacting..

Team is not playing well right now, it's undeniable. Shots are not falling, defense is porous, no rebounding, etc.

But there's 50+ games left in the season. Either the conditioning and execution improves, or Ainge will make moves to bring in help.

There's still no reason to panic.

Well, he's got a point though. You don't get a high five for telling a kid there is no Santa Claus, then talking to him the day after Christmas and hearing how he watched his parents put presents under the tree.

Doesn't mean you weren't right to have reservations. It's just a lose lose situation.

And, I'll be here saying 'don't panic'. Not cuz this team doesn't have penetrating problems without much of a solution on the horizon, but because it doesn't make a lick of difference if we do.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
I've certainly been one to believe this team is going to come out of it's funk and get it together eventually. Not exactly sure when, but eventually. Granted, tonight's game didn't register a positive attitude out of me one bit and made me feel more pessimistic than I have felt at any other time this season, but when I've had time to back away and think about it, I'm still guardedly hopeful something decent will come out of this season.

We never won a Championship at the beginning of a season and I don't think we've exactly lost one at this point either. Certainly I don't feel like we're going to the Finals, but it's hard to give up hope that we'll find a way to have a decent season when all is said and done.

The bar of expectations have certainly been lowered the longer this funk goes on.

Yeah, uh, have you looked at the Sixers lately?

We're not winning the Atlantic this year.

I'm curious what kind of moves you think Danny can make to "bring in help" other than to maybe pick some guys up off the waiver wire -- which hasn't helped us much at all in recent years.

More likely than not -- as Danny has said himself -- if this team doesn't get it together, Danny will explore trades to get younger and essentially start the rebuilding process, not so much "bring in help."  At that point, it will be against our best interests to make the playoffs.

Yeah, uh, 50 games remaining, and a 5.5 game lead. You really think that's insurmountable?

Kenyon Martin, JR Smith, Joel Przybilla, Erick Dampier: are all free agents. All would help this team.

If you want to write the season off, it's your prerogative. I'm not there yet.

I mean idk the team could still get it together... but I'm getting doubtful.

Wait until we get to the back to back to backs... we're screwed for those if this is how we're playing now. This is considered the EASY part of the schedule...

Unfortunately, we can't keep up with teams like Miami, Chicago, OKC... we couldnt keep up with the struggling Suns...

18 isnt happening this year. It may be better to just start rebuilding early...

Yes, for this team, compared to a deep, young, athletic Sixers squad playing great on both ends, I do think that 5.5 games, which is only going to grow while Rondo is coming back from his injury and the rest of the players are getting into shape / figuring it out, is going to be an insurmountable lead.

As for K-Mart, J.R. Smith et. al., I don't know why they would sign with the Celtics once they come back from China.  The Celtics will only be able to offer the minimum, and for the minimum those guys could go to any number of teams who will almost certainly have much better records and much better playoff prospects (both K-Mart and J.R. could be very valuable to the Clippers or the Spurs, for example).
