I agree with people who think the big 3 should only be traded to places where they've got a decent shot at winning....(even if the Celtics continue to lose I'll still feel that way)

trade 1:  Ray and a 2cnd rounder to Memphis for Mayo, Pondexter and Arthur
trade 2:  Pierce, JJJ and JO to Atlanta for Josh Smith and Heinrich
trade 3:  KG and AB to Denver for Harrington, Anderson, A. Miller and Koufos

Celts starters:  Rondo, Mayo, Pietrus, Josh Smith, Chris Anderson
first bench:       A. Miller, Heinrich, Pondexter/Daniels, Bass, Koufos
rest:                   Stiemsa, Harrington, Pondexter/Daniels, Moore, Pavlovic

D League or cut someone.

Next step:  pray that you haven't annihilated the cap and ruined the amnesty option so that Dwight Howard can't join Rondo and Josh Smith and his ex-mates Bass and Pietrus

all worked in the trade thingy  ;D

I've got to be honest:  I don't think any of those three trades make us better going forward into the future.

A lot of people seem fascinated with a potential core of Rondo-Mayo-Smith, but man, I think that's potentially one of the most dysfunctional locker rooms in the NBA.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

it was meant as a lure Howard kind of thing, which would turn it into a juggernaut team...
yeah, Rondo would have to step up leader-ship wise to help Doc keep focus..

The only trades I want to see are ones that take back expiring contracts + (1st round picks or CHEAP young prospects).  Though, I don't think anyone will be willing to give up a young prospect or draft pick for a KG or Ray rental. That just leaves Pierce, really...  Trade Pierce for an expiring contract + young prospect or 1st rounder.

I mean... MAYBE you can get a 2nd rounder out of the Clippers if they value Ray Allen over Mo Williams (both expiring).  Beyond that... not many options.  I think KG should just announce an early retirement if we are unsuccessful in finding him a new home to make a playoff run this year.

I agree unless there's something that could set us up as desirable for D. Howard, which is something that must be waited upon.....
In the scenario above, at least we keep both 2012 first round picks....

They still have value as high-level role players.  Just not as stars.

Where would we get the money to lure Howard when we'd have to be paying Rondo, Mayo, and Smith, with Bass and Pietrus also up for new contracts?

Not sure, but if it meant getting Howard, certainly Bass and Pietrus wouldn't get deals...

I don't think our guys have that much value to be honest and they have less value each game they play like tonight.

WE should only trade JO; PP; RA and KG. each should bring at a minimunm-a first rounder Plus low paid potentials with team options and qualifying status otherwise we should let the expiring contracts they have remove them from the team at the end of the current year. I would press to Trade Pierce first. all four could help teams get to the playoffs thus have value  and will net assets and Draft picks

not to mention those teams are not going to do that trade. everybody is fascinated by Josh Smith and OJ Mayo they think any trade they throw, Memphis and Atlanta would just agree to it.

The only thing we can trade our players for are mid level, long contract deals. Smith and Mayo is not a longshot, but the Celtics will have to give more than all these trade ideas that has been posted.
